Shop owner's that do remote starts
by Guest Prestige- 7 replies

If you are a shop owner that does remote starts, this may intereste you. I am currently using trilogic bypasses for remote starts, they work perfect, very few comebacks, anyway, we are changing to the programming modules, so I only have a few different types of bypasses left, but I have a lot of them and I am willing to strike a pretty good deal email me at chris@cbaaw.com if you think you might be interested thanks Or if you have any questions about any of their bypasses you can ask me too, we order hundreds at a time, and we as well as many other companies feel they are the best.

This is only my 2nd flat glass job..... we have tinted some of the windows and have gone back the next day and there are lots areas where there are water bubbles that can be pushed out... I fear if I wait too long then they will really bubble and ruin the window. this is a restaurant that has been in business a few months so we have cleaned the windows with ammonia to get off the grease residue and then scraped, cleaned with soap and water to make sure the ammonia was gone.... anyone have any clue what could be going on .... as of now its not a big prob. but what if I wasnt going there everyday to push out the bubbles???

Greetings all: I just wanted to hear from any Madico film users. I have used Madico for years and find it to be to notch film. It holds up under the strange New England weather patterns. In 10 years in business, I have only had 2 warranty claims, both for glass failure. The company was great in both instances, covering their warranty without question. During this time, I have had repeated calls from other film installers customers asking about film replacement when it either peeled, de-metalized, or dis-colored. The original installation company had either refused to cover the warranty they originally claimed was lifetime, or would not even come to the home to…

question about tint law 1 2
by Guest zamac_man- 11 replies
- 1.4k views
I have been looking to get tint for about 6 months. I was wanting 5-10%, but I figured that would be too dark for night time. I was leaning now towards 15%, which is the legal for cars that came with tint. But, the law says you can't have darker than 35%, which is not dark at all. I read the law: (9) * * * No person shall install any tinted film, darkening material, glazing material or any other material upon the windshield or any window of a motor vehicle which, after the installation thereof, would result in such vehicle being in violation of subsection (2) or (4) of this section * * *. (10) No motor vehicle inspection certificate shall be issued from …

OK, about a month or so ago I get this dealer calling me to tint a '05 Impala. I told him I really didn't want to do it on the day he had to have it done because it was going to be real cold that day and it takes for ever to warm up my shop. He insisted so I said OK. Well, for the most part things went OK until I scorched the end of the tint for the back window so I ended up 2 piecing the window. By this time I have the dealer calling wanting the car back (even though I told him I wanted it overnight in a warm garage). So, I made sure that everything was as dry as I could get it before delivering the car. Now, I have to redo the window because the owner complains of…

Well boys I listened to you and took my car to a new tinter and had my window done for the 3rd time.It came out great! He took his time and just told me the previous tinter went to fast and left glue on a few of the defroster lines and there were a few creases.Just a rushed job. This new guy was great.......After he finished the job he told me to keep the car for a few days and be sure I was happy before I paid him.I said thanks but I gave him 250 and everybody was Happy. Thanks all for your valueable advice and sarcastic jokes.

I use hospital towels and rewash them instead of paper towels. I also put pinesol in with my wash to help with keeping the lint off the towels and knocking out any contamination on them from dryer sheet/ soap residue. I find that useing the towels is a lot cheaper and better than paper towels. And the pinesol is my ancient chinese secret.

Tough windows with rubber edge on inside.
by Guest reject_racing- 6 replies

So I'm pretty new at tinting, And today I did a 93 model Ford Ranger Single cab pickup for practice, the kind whos back window is followed all the way around with the thick rubber gasket. On cars like these, how do I keep from getting a small gap around the edges of the window without cutting the gasket? Or do I need to? I'm getting good at normal windows but these windows, such as the quarter windows in the back doors of my isuzu, the tint has to butt right up to the rubber to keep from having a small gap. If the film is too close it will lift and will not adhere properly. The cleanup was something in itself, the glass was scratched and had dirt all the way around the ed…

car seat liability 1 2 3 4
by Guest SIR TINTSALOT- 32 replies

I just wondered how others on this site deal with the issue of customers with child seats in the back of the car. After I finish tinting cars that got car seats I always tell the customer that I don't put the car seat back in because I don't want to be liable if their kids seat is not in there right. Just recently I have posted signs in the shop so the customer can see that we do this for their safety and not just to be lazy.
