Have any of you professionals ever checked out the quality of work done by one horse town country tinters who know Jack S..t about window tinting? OMG after having just taken a few days off over Xmas to go interstate, some of the flat glass jobs Isaw were pathetic. One was in a social club where a bank of windows had been cut short by 2"s so the guy just added a piece to those he made a mistake on. Can you imagine how bad that looked? It was also gapped by 1/2" at the top... windows were about 4' X 5'. Dirt everywhere too, torn edge cutting and they get away with it. Wicked work standards! Devil

Speaking of Toyota dealerships like I saw a post about earlier this week, I tinted a dealership last May with Silver 20 and now they are saying that they want the transoms darker. My question is will this be a problem for glass breakage? It is single pane and I am pretty sure it is annealed glass and not tempered. I was going to give them a bid to redo the transoms in a 5% mirror but that will be expensive and it will also be labor intensive, not that I am opposed to the R&R but I think they will frown at the price. So, what do you guys think of putting another layer of say a 20 non reflective or darker, maybe even blackout. I thought about it and I dont think that t…

maybe some of you allready do this, but I just started when I lost my olfa. Some of you may cut the film on the outside to fit the glass exactly. Then slide the film to get a micro edge. I find it looks better with no gap at all on a frameless. So I leave the flim a little long on the top edge then trim when it is installed. As we all know you can easily scratch the film or mess up the cut if the angle of your blade is wrong. simple fix to both these problems use a plastic knife. You can get the film right to the edge, and dont have to worry about scratching the film. Just cut it like you dont even care becuaes you dont have to care. just rest the knife on the windo…

How the hell do I get this pic as my avatar? It keeps giving me an error message and I don't have any image programs to resize or anything like that. Maybe a mod could just magically place it there that knows what the hell I'm doing wrong.

Removing Old tint on rear windows 1 2 3
by Guest 2dark2C- 24 replies
- 2.4k views
I had a car come in with this tint on the rear window that was so old, not only was is purple but it didn't even come off like normal tint does... It was all flaky. I'm use to removing tint that comes off like a big peace of plastic then all I have left is the glue... Not only was it hard to scrape off, but I had to work around the rear defrosters, being careful not to take them off.... Is there a tool or a technique that is out there that could have made my job a little easier with this old tint and the defrosters?? THanks

Alright. I can not find a decent steamer. What are you guys using and where and how much did you spend? I found a Wagner steamer soley to be used for wallpaper removal. I thought that would work well but it was over $50! Plus, I can't really use it for anything else. I was hoping to find one of those universal ones like you see on HSN channel sometimes.

www.dailykos.com On the home page a little past halfway down there is an article about how you can buy someones phone records of thier calls for only $110. Land line, cell, which ever you want. Well if that isnt a violation of privacy then what tha he|| is. And its just gonna keep getting worse, the more we let them do the more they will do, where are they going to stop. Pretty soon there will be no such thing as privacy, o but yea it is for the better of the country, better of the country my a55. Why are these people selling out thier freedom?

This is a pretty volatile subject, Hopefully we'll all play nice, but I wonder how many of you remove ALL brake lights? I will remove them if they come right out. But any kind of dissassembly (Back seat removal, rear deck etc.) I give the customer the option. I charge accordingly. With the prices that the Chattanooga area market will bear, I still make pretty good money, but add the time required to remove SOME lights, the profit margin drops considerably. Curiously, not many folks around here have a problem with the cutout. Some even request it. (Go Figger!! ) For the right money, I'll pull all the glass and tint the glass under water in a filtered tank!!. 20' of LLuLLu…

Looking for a good tint shop in Houston, Tx. 1 2

Im getting a car this weekend and I'd like to tint the windows right away. I'm looking for a shop that will do a good job. Any recomended shops? It's a hatchback so it should be easier than a conventional car. What would be a fair price for this car. I don't just want to go to any shop and quote prices with no Idea. Would appreciate any suggestions or tips. In Houston, Tx.

When you have a car with a dark interior, or a rear deck that is obscuring your light, making it difficult to see the frit line when making your final cuts on the rear window, you can use these cards to help you see: They are just white poster board paper that have been laminated to keep them dry and rigid. Before you start cutting, tuck these all along the bottom of the rear window on the inside. This will help you see the frit line and make it much easier to see what you are doing. Hope this helps someone.

I watched this movie, it was alright. but I dont think its right to make a movie acting like a "special person" , its disrespecting human beings who are being born this way, at the same time they dont know why they are the way they are. I dont know, feel kinda bad for them.

What would go better with lite tan interior?

I have a 87 Volvo 240 with a lite tan interior. The windows aren't smoked or stained, so they are clear with no color. What tint would look better with the interior, Madico Charcool(which has a green hue to it) or Jobnson's Silhoutte(which has a black/blue hue to it)?

'04 Nissan Maxima Rear Window Question 1 2
by Guest jimshade- 19 replies
- 2.7k views
I had my car tinted 35% all windows and noticed something odd on the rear window. I can see a white border about 1-2 cm think all around where the tint was laid down. Now I know that there are some dot matrix dots that form a border around the window, but does anyone know if this is normal? I paid ~220 dollars to get it tinted by a professional and he did warn that I would be able to see some whitish color from the inside, but nothing from the outside. The whitish border is clearly visible from the outside. Does anyone have experience with the '04 maxima and know what I'm talking about? When I called up the shop they said that this was normal. I just had the car ti…

I was asked to produce a resume for a sales rep position in my area. It would require that I either close my biz, or sell it. I'm waiting to see what the initial offer is before I consider it. They want to heavy hand the current rep and see if he performs. I was given this info at a Burger King yesterday at lunch with my kids. I think I'll wait for $'s
