I was asked to produce a resume for a sales rep position in my area. It would require that I either close my biz, or sell it. I'm waiting to see what the initial offer is before I consider it. They want to heavy hand the current rep and see if he performs. I was given this info at a Burger King yesterday at lunch with my kids. I think I'll wait for $'s

maybe some of you guys do this because I learned this when I first started from someone else.Using a small palm sander on the dots will get them very smooth and close to flush with the glass. using 1-2 inch masking tape , mask off the area that you are not going to sand so you dont scratch the glass.use 600 grit or finer.keep it wet and wipe clean reguarly.keep the sandpaper clean. use light pressure and be gentle.then clean the dot area well with dot devil .when applying film,an orange crush or simular sqeegee will lay that film down good.I have found this teqniue to have beautiful results.

I want to tint my 2005 4 door honda civic LX. I know nothing about window tinting and recently visited a shop near where I live. They have a brand of window tint that they use called Protect Gaurd. Is this a good brand? A friend told me to ask them if they have the Lumar Brand and they told me that the Protect Gaurd brand they carry is actually better. They quoted me a price of $200 to tint all 4 windows and the rear window as well. They offer a 90 day warranty. I asked about a lifetime warranty and they said they dont offer that but seemed to strongly believe in this Protect Gaurd tinting and told me it won't bubble or fade. If anything happens to the tint, to …

The end of 2005 brought quite a surprise, Our #1 installed film of the year turns out not to be Auto or Solar film. Safety film in 2005 took the lead with over 46,000 sf installed. Who knew people would pay for film that they couldnt see

Tinter gets an invite to compete in a tint off... makes arrangements and flies in for the competition. As the event progresses said tinter is approached by official sponsoring the event and is asked to remove the competitors logo shirt in order to compete in tintoff... all others competing are wearing sponsors logo... tinter is an orange among the apples. Refuses to switch shirts... yet... is still allowed to compete and makes it to the final round. Tinter is again asked to remove competitor logo shirt... tinter refuses again... official for event then give ultimatum... remove logo and continue or do not continue. Tinter flies home with his shirt still on his back...…

98 Mustang Tint 1 2

The tinter placed tint on back window and it has huge places in it where tint not sticking. They said they have problems with the small black dots on the top of the Mustangs back window and the tint sometimes doesn't want to stick -so they used elmers glue on it and it doesn't seem to be sticking. Their solution is: 1. slice tinting off right below the dots 2. slice tint off below dots and place a black plastic 4' strip across the dots to meet the tinting. Help is this normal or am I being given the run around. The tinting cost $169 lifetime warranty. Thought about taking to the two other tint places in town and getting their procedure in doing such a job. HEL…

So what;s the big deal? I was thinking about trying and becoming a dealer, but from what I saw, I wasn't impressed. It was peeling back from the matrix on the vents and back glass, the color was ok, all in all, it was OK. I used some 38 HP True Grey to match the door I was re-tinting and it was almost perfect, so where's the extra $$$ going? There was a sticker on the back glass for a shop in AZ and they said they get like $xxxdepending on the film, that is crazy money for a tint job. BTW, of the films we've used, the adhesive on the SolarGard seems to be the best, it sticks to anything and fast.

So let me fill you in on a story from yesterday. About 6-8 months ago, a nice older gentleman walks in and says he has a crack on his windshield, and sure enough he does. I look up the price, and sure as @#$% he's the lucky owner of a $1000+ dollar piece of glass. Well, he had a lot going on at the time and wasn't ready to replace it, and the crack was quite low, by the wipers, so I said I will stop it for $20, but it's not garunteed to hold. He said alright, I pulled in the car, and started BSing with the old guy. Turns out he was in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam, retired out of the automobile business, helped develop the radial tire, and survived lung cancer and is livin…

Last night on the local news some guy got pulled over because he had !llegal tint, they decided to search his car and found alot of Dr*gs, thousands of dollars and a hand gun. His car was hooked up with a secret compartment and had to use a police dog to sniff it out. I guess they found him with the $ and got suspicious.

I h@te to admit there's something out there that we can't, or won't, tint... but there's a few cars that are just TOO much of a hassle to deal with. Now that we're a little bigger, I don't have time to help the tinters, so I'm trying to save myself a lot of wasted film, and time (which is money). I'm putting together a new price list for the new year, and would like some input on what vehicles you guys ever turn down, or charge thru the nose for. So far, this is what I have. What would you add? Blacklisted: 89-97 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 4-DR 87-96 Chevy Berretta 91-95 Saturn SL Series 4-DR Charge Extra: 98-Present VW Beetle 89-97 Ford Thunderbird 93-95? …

This is a no brainer for most, but if anyone uses magnetic bolt trays for anything, watch out where you set them down. Put it down on a work bench and accidentely pick up an unseen razor blade on the bottom. You take the chance of cutting yourself when handling it or setting it down on some part of a vehicle that can cause costly damage. TOTW??? How bout it TD, I need some medals here.... Come on dood; it's Christmas..

Vinyl Wood Grain
by Guest MemoreeMaker- 2 replies

Hello, Hope you can help me with my problem. My wife & I would like to convert my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country Van into a "Woodie". I have found the "outer mld's" that I need but not the vinyl "wood grain" material I'll need. To complete this job I'll need 1 piece 12" wide by approx 50 ft for the basic "wood panals" & another 12" x 20 ft piece to cover the "outer mlds". Looking for suggestions as to where I can find the Vinyl Wood Grain material I need. Bob Huff , Norfolk Va.

First off, I'm a big fan of this method since last yr (thanks Mdog ) I've always used an Ivory soap bar , however, I ran out so I used Irish Spring because it was handy from the house and don't like it nearly as much ..got me to thinking of how many people that tried this method that don't like it hase been using another brand of soap bar other than the ivory . I'm not saying that it's the best out there ..but I am saying that there can be a big difference in using one bar of soap over an other. Food for thought

Fireplace
by Guest FilmBlazer- 8 replies

I got a call today from a woman with a fireplace that is shared by her great room and master bedroom. She just bought the house and doesn't like the fact that one can see into the bedroom thru the fireplace. She wants to know if I can put film on it, the darker the better. I said sounds like a tricky one. I got some more info from her and she told me that the glass is only about 9 inches from the heat source. Thats gotta be hotter than hell that close to the source, so I just don't know if film would hold up. Gonna check the Llumar tech site and see at what temp the different films will combust, but thought I would ask yall for your input. Will the film hold up or what?…
