Installer in Columbia, SC area 1 2 3

Hello, I'm looking for an installer in my area, my top priority is a quality installation. I'll be tiniting an Acura TSX. It's my first new car so I'm nervous about having anything done to it. Is there anything I (or the installer) should know about this particular car? I have researched the different types and brands of tint, but if you have other tips or suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks Tim

Had a tinter call in sick today, left me short handed and a whole lot of tint for one guy, so it was time for me to see what I could do. I did the side of a 2005 Vibe, the side of a 2004 4dr Grand Am, a 2006 Altima, and both sides of a 2006 Legacy Wagon. I was pretty pleased considering I only this is almost more than I've done before combined. It does help that I've been watching for 8 years though.

I just had to share this, Im sure Willie will like it. What religion is Your Bra? A man walked into the ladies department of a Macy's and shyly walked up to the woman behind the counter and said, ?I'd like to buy a bra for my wife.? ?What type of bra?? asked the clerk. ?Type?? inquires the man, ?There's more than one type?? ?Look around,? said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size, color and material imaginable. ?Actually, even with all of this variety, there are really only four types of bras to choose from.? Relieved, the man asked about the types. The saleslady replied: ?There are the Catholic, the Salvation Army, the Presbyterian…

I just tinted my rear window for the 2nd time. When it is cloudy I see 4 or 5 imperfectoins that I beleive is old glue that was not removed when the 2nd tint was done.Should I try for a 3rd time or just live with these imperfections. You really see these spots when its cloudy with is botrhersome to me.However I am worried that if I try a third time it will come out the same. What do you master tinters feel...........should I try for a third time and tell them to take there time removing the old tint and glue or just live with with the cards I was dealt.Opinions wanted!

Ok my parents have these half moon windows in there family room. the sun shines right in the one.. so I tinted it for them over 6 yrs. ogo. I used SG film..well the sun still botherd my dad. So he would put a pillow up in the window to block it more.. well I was over there the other day and I noticed that the window had cracked at the bottom it looked like, and spider webbed up the whole window.. Now why would this happen.. I do know that the window would get pretty hot during the day hours from the sun.. Im just wondering why after 6 yrs would it do this?? or is it something else that caused it?? could the pillow had been a cause?? maybe.. I feel like I failed.…

Hey, my wife's sister is leaving later today for home far away and she just called wanting to know if there is anything I can do to clean her headlights up. The insides look to be clean and well sealed off, but the plastic housing has become fairly "foggy" over the years. Is there anything I can to to shine these up and get the headlamps to work at their full potential?

I just recieved a brochure from huper. About thier new product acht. I need to know will this product interfere with navi and radio reception? I see that it does have a conductive metal in the film along with the creamic technology. Unfortunatley the brochure does not tell me if I can use it with cars with navi or not. And yes I could just call my rep about this, but he is hard to reach most times.

today at my shop I saw something done that I havent seen in like 4 years. my partner told our cleaner to peal and bring in a suburban quarter glass piece in to him. he peeled it, sprayed it, peeled it off the board and then he proceeded to spin around two and a half times to get the right entry angle into the car. we call that the tint dance. hope you guys know what im talking about. luckily the window still came out clean.

, Hi to all that luv 2 tint. I have been a bit keen on threading to notice that I really should introduce myself so as to know who we are all chatin to. The last couple of weeks I have had a look at the site and have now since signed. Mainly because the type of TD,s using it has the same passion intrest etc that you dont seem to find here in Oz, a lot of TD,s in Oz slap it on see ya later who cares approach, you all seem to take this art form a bit more seriously, so thank you all to now and future trade offs, I started back in the early 80,s with a detailing shop and basicly wondered what the purple, bubbling, flaking C##P was on the glass, found out what it was, pursu…

I've just done some interesting end of year sabbaticals and found the results are always the same year in year out. Done buggerall through the year (if you can call cruising through just over 300 installs work) and yet I've had another fantastic profitable year. My goal has always been to tint smarter and not tint stupid. I'm without doubt the most expensive around but the evidence has proved my business ethos is right. I should sell my concept because this window tinting business sure needs it from what I know of it. How about yourselves? How did you go? How many installs would you have done in the last 12 months? Were you a tint slave again to the tint industry? De…

For those of you who use glue in the matrix... Have you had the opportunity to have a car with matrix in the shop that was done with glue in need of replacement? Not necessarily because of glue failure in the matrix, but just a R & R for whatever reason. How easy (or hard) was it to remove the film and glue(s) from the matrix? If difficult to remove, what was your best method for removing old Elmer's or whatever glue? And, how long had it been on before the R & R? Leading to... Do you find the longer it's on the hard it is to remove? We have seen the widespread use of glue vs. vinyl for years now, despite what any of the mfg.'s say about its use. It would b…

You'll love this Willee. I sold a bird a professional installation back in July and now she wants to save some moola by doing it herself because she observed me making the job look so easy. So I cut her the film this avo and left it to her devices. don't ring me. Must be something about Xmas that brings these people out of the woodwork. Devil

Im a total Noob at tinting. I found this site while looking for tinting tips. You seem like a great crew over here. Im not tinting Auto glass or windows, Im tinting Lexon windows on 1/10th RC car bodies. In the past I have used tinting paints but have had poor results. Like everyone else Im just looking for a better way. Im going to give film a try but am concerned that the body flex may be an issue. Wish me luck. -Ed

Hello all, Ive been at this cool business since 1975, and I still love it. I can't say I'm very happy with the direction tinting is headed. I tint flat glass only and the jobs I am seeing around town are pathetic. I guess anyone can tint these days if they can buy product. I really enjoy this site and its members, because in you folks I see people who still appreciate this craft. I'm learning new things everyday even with my background, and I'll really enjoy your input through this dinosaurs tint journey. Thanks for having me

Hi all, I am going to be getting some windows tinted for my house to mitigate the glare of the sun. One installer recommended Suntek Infinity DS Bronze Series IDS20 Bronze. Their literature stated the glare reduction is 80%. I have Pella Windows and reside in Chicago where temps are now 5 degrees but in the summer get up to 98 (Don't know if that makes a difference for tinting). I am solely concerned with reducing glare and not concerned with keeping heat out. Two questions I have are: 1. Is this a good product and the product that is best recommended to keep the glare out, or is this considered a cheap product? 2. If I am having transoms tinted but the windows …
