Hi all, new to this part of the forum, just a tint guy. I had a Kenwood DDX7015 unit installed in my 06 F-250. They did a great job with it, and the unit seems to be just as good, mainly wanted the satelite radio hook up with something that would fill the hole where the factory unit resided. The installer told me that he had to use a trim kit for a F-150 and add some spacers to it for a decent fit. I am wondering if there is a trim kit that would make the unit fit in the dash cleaner? It looks good, but the guy told me that it could look a lot better with the right parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When using a hybrid film, what percentage of installs do you see RF interference complaints from the car owner? What percent when using all metal film? AM? GPS? CELL? KEYLESS? I've seen plenty of posts saying radio or GPS interference is more a non-issue than an issue. Is there a percent number that can be assigned those complaints you receive from a customer of yours? There are solutions to AM radio interference or loss, but for GPS it becomes a different challenge due to the placements of its antenna. AM antenna on back glass and metal in film have an easier fix than GPS (or cell for that matter). Any feedback?

Best visual quality tint 1 2
by Guest goixiz- 14 replies
- 2.7k views
I received about 5 quotes from local tinters to tint my car and now im confused who to go with Prices range from $150-$250 Tint quality is important and I will need warranty in case something does happen. The tinters offer from Sun Guard, Llumar, Madico. I do not know nor have the experience to selct which tint material. MY priority 1. Visual Clarity 2. UV protection 3. Incar heat reduction 4. Durability Im not looking for super dark tint, In fact I drive a lot at night and prefer the lightest tint that will do the best job So who makes the tint that will meet my requirements Any help greatly appreciated.

Aside from the fact that I, too, think that the HP..........(suntek/3M, same stuff)........does *not* have a blue hue to it, (I also don't think the HP has fade issues as I've noticed it to hold its color rather well) Anyway, I'd really like to see what the 3M NR stuff looks likeon glass. Supposedly it's quite black which sounds nice, but still curious. Anybody got pics of it??

Just curious how many of you all have Nextels, I'm curious to see how they work across the country. Farthest I've connected is Philly from Eastern NC. I have found them to be very convenient in daily biz for us, our two shops are about 100 yds apart and sometimes I am off site, it makes it quick and easy to ask a quick question instead of calling over the phone. If anyone wants to try theirs out, IM me with your DC #.

filing tint 1 2
by Guest Iceman808- 10 replies

Hey all tint pro's A question for you regarding filing tint. Is it common these days for most professionals to file tint? For instance I have noticed some cars that have been simply cut and fit and the finish is terrible. Can you only file tint on cars that have no door frame around the window? Also, can filing cause small chips on the window edge or does some auto glass already have some flaws. I just thought tempered glass was very hard and was difficult to scratch or chip unless it is hit very hard with a rock from a mower etc. I have watched tint professional filing tint and it amazes me that you don't damage the glass when it's being done, it sounds terrible when i…

DO NOT USE A SINGLE EDGE RAZOR BLADE TO CLEAN SIDE WINDOWS, it doesnt matter if the blade is brand new and stainless. just DON"T do it. From now on just use a white scrubbie pad and dirt off.
