Do you find it more difficult to dry shrink when there is overspray on the back glass? I know it can be done. I'm just curious if you notice a difference.

How fast are you really? 1 2

Question for the greats out there. How long does it take you to shrink the film on a back window of a Citroen C3. Had one yesterday. Think this could well be one of the toughest ones to do. We had to slice it it 2 pieces - which of course is not the ideal. But hey why dont you try. Has anyone done this with a one piece install - well then I believe you can call yourself a magic TINTER and then I will have to practice some more. Sure Mr. Blade and Devil can do the one piecer?

Larry gets home late one night and his wife, Linda, says, "Where have you been?" Larry replies, "I was out getting a tattoo." "A tattoo?" she frowned. "What kind of tattoo did you get?" "I got a hundred dollar bill on my privates," he said proudly. "What the hell were you thinking?" she said, shaking her head in disdain. "Why on earth would an accountant get a hundred dollar bill tattooed on his privates?" "Well, one, I like to watch my money grow. Two, once in a while I like to play with my money. Three, I like how money feels in my hand. And, lastly, instead of you going out shopping, you can stay right here at home and blow a hundred bucks anytime…

viper alarm acting funny (not)
by Guest thorrenaud- 7 replies

I have a DEi (Viper?) RPN471T remote that causes the starter to engage after the vehicle is started with the remote so you get that grinding noise like when you turn the key and the vehicle (99 Ford Explorer) is already running. At the same time the engine revs and sounds like it will stall. Sometimes this problem happens and sometimes it doesn't, I disconnected the battery to the vehicle hoping it would maybe change soemthing but it didn't.

This started in the general section last night. On some rice burners I have done that belong to a local car club, they have a large approx. 12"x24" decal of their club which is kind of expensive and they prefer not to remove for shrinking I use a piece of film liner cut larger than the decal and wet the window lay the liner to overlap the decal and squeege to anchor. Dry the film and window and powder shrink as usual. This may help as some of the decals especially in the summer months {warm} are kind of tacky and are hard to shrink over as the film grabs them.

heres how you can tint them all the way back without taking the windows out. trim the rubber as usual, cut your film and install. to get your tools all the way back and push out the bubbles, we at our shop take a windshield suction cup and fasten it to the outside of the window. I have my partner pull back on the window as I squeegee it out with either an ez reach or cut down red devil. this works awesome. since I opened up this new shop we have done all accords all the way back and people notice, since we do so many every week. the suction cups are pretty expensive but we do glass so we have them already. if you can get a hold of one try it.

Too dark!!!! 1 2

I thought this article was good! The officers who have been driving around Greenfield in the city's three new police cars are plainly visible to passers-by. That's different from the vast majority of cars in GPD's fleet; their windows are so darkly tinted it's impossible to see their occupants. The tinting, which is so opaque it may break state law, has occasionally raised whispers about the obscured face of law enforcement in Greenfield. The new cars, whose unmodified windows allow the public to see who's on patrol, now only serve to sharpen the question: How can a police department that so values contact with the public tolerate a display that promotes - in the word…

Roll Pin removal tool 1 2 3
by Guest Eclipse- 25 replies

I am looking for a tool that removes roll pins, the ones you find on most quarter windows that pop out. The tool has multiple pins that you can change out to fit the size of the roll pin you are wanting to remove. It looks like a pair of pliers. You just squeeze the pliers and the pin presses out. I used to have this tool and lost it. I can't find a new one anywhere. Has anyone heard of such an animal? I currently use a pair a channel locks and a screw that is a size smaller than the pin. How do you all remove these pins, if you remove them at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Commercial Half tint

I have had customers come to me in the past requesting that I apply solar control film covering half of the window. I have always declined because of the risk of glass breakage due to uneven heat absorbtion, and tried to convince them to film the entire glass, almost always to lose the business because someone else will do it. I am considering it as an option and I am looking for some input. Certain films I don't see a problem with. My customers like Vista V14 and V28. I won't do the V28 because of its high heat apsorbtion from the get go, but I am curious about the V14. Outside of them, I'm not afraid to use Llumar Frosty or Llumar PS3-W for partial installs exposed …

What razor blade & Squeegee to use for cleaning?
by Guest chip01- 7 replies
Cleaning glass which squeegee is the best, with little effort. Is one on a handle a good idea same with the razor blade. Seen the 6" black smoothie on a handle on is this better than a small 4" one u use by hand / same with the razor Also, is there any point in razor blading the glass and scubbing it with the white scrub pad, can you just do one or is there more chance of contam. Just seen a lot of people doing one or the other that is all and trying to increse my time on cars!
