I think my personal favorite thing that customers do, like this customer the other day, is when they come in complaining about a spot, a spot?!,( one spot, you're kidding right.).... anyway, we get out to the car, and she's rubbing the window, going" I know it's here somewhere". Finally she finds it, and it's a scratch where something has obviously bumped it. Good stuff......

it has probably be talked about here before, but, add some (about 2 cups) of ammonia to the gallon of your water for your jiffy steamer. It works wonders! FYI -- I think that a c6 vette back glass is the hardest back glass to one piece

I just wanted to remind all of you that this is the season when FIRES happen all the time due to little thing that can be avoided. Take a look around the shop and at home for things that could possibly start a fire. Here are some things that you can looks for: 1) check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors change batteries if needed. 2) watch where you put space heaters. don't put them around something that could catch on fire or on carpet or rug. this happens all the time. 3) watch where you put candles. candles are just as bad as space heaters and are in the top 10 fire starters. 4) check all your plugs and make sure they don't need to get replaced. bad plugs sta…

(MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THE WAY TO THE END!!) 1) New York City has 11 letters 2) Afghanistan has 11 letters. 3) Ramsin Yuseb (The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters. 4) George W Bush has 11 letters. This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets more interesting: 1) New York is the 11th state. 2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11. 3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11 4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5 = 11 5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1 = 11 6) The date is equal to the US emergency servic…

Remote Car Start Issue?
by Guest RDSk- 1 reply
- 1.3k views
Hi - this is my first time posting, so hopefully you'll bear with me. We had a big snow storm today (that may/may not be relevant). When I turn the ignition, the car does not start (the radio, fan, directionals, etc work just fine). When I use the remote starter it also won't start. When I use the remote starter from inside the car, I can hear two little clicks, which is normally followed by the car actually starting - today it does not. What is interesting is that if I use the remote starter, listen for the 2 clicks, then use the key to turn the ignition, the car starts perfectly. BUT....to actually go somewhere, I need to put the car into drive or reverse....whic…

heres something I do to keep track of the blade tips when I snap them at a house or office. Take some 2" masking tape, about 4", and lay it out by your tint box or table you work off of, then as you snap off blades set them on the sticky side of the tape, after the job is finished roll up the tape and toss in the garbage bag. I used to just snap them in the bag, then one time a blade cut through the bag and ended up on the floor, I found it before anything bad happened, but it made me think in this lawsuite happy world, who need to take chances. hope it helps someone

Im looking to getting my window tinted and would like suggestion as where to go as well as what brand to use. The few place that I've spoken to carry Madico, Solaar gard, Formula and Huper Optik. Prices on these vary greatly from $200(Madico) to $600(huper optik). Is it worth it to go with Huper Optik? I am in Fairfax, VA and if you guys could recommend a shop that does great work I would appreciated. thanks

I am a real newbie at this window tinting. I just heard that you can do it yourself, and I would like to do it this weekend. It is winter time. Some of the day, it will be above freezing, 35 degrees; the low will be below freezing. My question is if I can still successfully be able to tint the windows leaving the car outside. I don't have a garage available. The only thing I can do is maybe put something in the mixture or put a tarp on top. Is there any tips you can give me to make this possible. I really need it done for the weekend. Thanks in advanced. dengez

I was planning on tinting my girlfriends car (probably a mistake ) and im a newbie. Its a mazda 3, so I don't think ill have any problems. Anyways, I was wondering where I can find Solar Gard tint, as you guys seem to recommend it. I called a tint shop that carried it, but the wouldn't sell it to me. im probably going with 5%. She is worried about getting pulled over, but I have'nt been pulled over for 3 years with my tint and loud exhaust. Besides, I don't think they would give her a ticket right away. Im guessing I should do the back in one peice because its basically flat. If I cant get Solar Gard, where can I find a good brand to buy on the internet or by phon…

Hi, Recently my girlfriend was involved in an incident where her car was keyed by some other ex-coworkers. The estimate was $500 Dollars If it is POSSIBLE I would like to do this as a Christmas present for her. I'm 17 and have cash to spend on this, I would like to at least get ride of or cover up the obscenities left by these people. I will practice before I do it, and I have a large range of tools between my dad (Vintage CarJunky) and myself (Off-Road enthusiast). I've been reading about Wet Sanding and I think that I could do this, or is there an alternative besides taking it to a body shop? If there is a DIY could someone please list the materials I will need an…

A guy sent an email to BMW claiming to be a superhero and tried to blag a car of them Email to BMW From: Me Sent: 25 October 2005 16:05 To: ---@bmw.co.uk Subject: My New Car Dear BMW, I come to you in not just my hour of need, but also the hour of need of my local town, Fareham. Fareham is a mid size town that recently has been taken over with crime. police were unable (or possibly unwilling?) to stop the crimes that happened here and so the city started to fall into a dark slump. From out of the ashes of Fareham's wasted youth came a hero, one man who would stand for justice, who would not stop until the wrongs of the world had been set right, and who wanted …

Ok I need some opinions from you people. I am asking you because this is a very diverse group of people from different walks of life. I am into guns I am not charlton hesston but I do enjoy shooting them. now I have an 11 yr old daughter who is very mature for her age . I am thinking of giving her a 22 rifle for xmas. So that we can go to the range together and spend quality time with one another. Obviously she will not be allowed to take it to school for show and tell, And it will be locked up when not going to the range. What do you guys and girls think about this. Is it a good idea or bad Keep in mind though before you deciede it's a bad idea because of her age. th…

I have done a few detints this week, and outcome was not all that I expected. I got alot of the glue to come off with the filmbut not all. I have used this same steamer before with excellent results. ON this two particular cars because of the weather. I used more steam then the other times, and it seems. That the spots where I het it extra heavy is where the glue remained. So is it posible to over steam or am I doing something else wrong?

When you tint a side glass and heat at the top on laminated glass does the film not discolour on anything when you heat it or do you just tint is a normal side glass, dunno if this is a dumb question but just looking for a headsup on this in case one shows sometime
