Try not to tuck to much film, especially at the bottom. Lay the film up a slide it down slowly and watch the top edge so you dont tuck too much. Had a focus yesterday that had a small tight spot in the middle. Would of been screwed if i tucked too much.

Likely the reasoning on that one is because of a black rubber piece that sits right at the bottom. Lower the seats down and you'll find a few black plastic rivots that hold the deck in. Remove those, then pull the carpeted deck towards you. This will get that piece off the glass and give you enough room to work. Once done just push it straight back and reinstall clips.

It looks like everyone here knows what they are doing when it comes to the TM3. If anyone has any questions about the 3 feel free to contact me. We have tinted around 500 of them. We tint 3 - 5 of them every singe day and as of right now Oct 23, 2018 we have almost 40 of them on the schedule. If you are in the SoCal area and you want to watch a TM3 get tinted or if you would like to use our TM3 rear window to practice again just give us me a call.

Most Tesla customers are more worried about the film and quality of install over the price, at least the ones I’ve done work for.

flat rock stan reacted to Bubbles in Learning from dvd
Ok im going to get the DVD’s for my birthday. On some of my windows i get contamination or the trim isnt real good. So I just keep putting that piece on because it is practice. I can do a couple windows after work or somtimes only one, and im working outside. I like to come on here and read what you pros are saying. Also ive been watching you tube and watch the same videos over and over again. How many if any flaws are acceptable on a job. I bought some mid grade film 35%. Thats legal here. Thanks for taking the time to answer

Dude i know what i'm doing and i still watch tint videos on youtube just because i like it and i learn from other people. get the DVD's and watch them, watch youtube, read these groups, always keep learning. I was going to buy the DVDs just to see how Stan does his work and maybe pick up a few pointers. You're lucky this is a time when you can ask anybody on the planet a question via the internet. there's a lot of good tips out there, but also a lot of low quality people making vids. but to answer your question yes get the DVDs, Stan is one of the top people out there and well known among the tint folk. @flat rock stan

flat rock stan reacted to no ma'am in Online training videos VS Physical training
@flat rock stan travels and teaches... he's good tech support. You may succeed with a few jobs on your own with internet videos but there are a million curve balls in the window tint world. Always something different and more challenging for sure, any insight into how to deal with obstacles from the past helps with next years nightmare car. Experience is priceless in this industry.

I learned from @flat rock stan at Oregon. It is always a better learning experience when you are physically there learning. But, i have been told that he has had many students learn just with his videos. Great teacher and I would not be where I am today if it weren't for him.

Have you contacted compcut or your rep for assistance? Not saying your problems aren't legitimate but I've encountered several situations where a lack of initial training wreaked havoc on the usability of the software/plotter.

flat rock stan got a reaction from Tint Slayer in How long do you have to cut bottom Edge to pass both seals when bottom loading?
@Tint Slayer yup I bring the corners down a tad or more depending on how deep the sides are and how much I can reach with the exacto.
Cheers

I'm a top loader and rarely take anything apart. I generally leave about a quarter inch at the bottom and when I hang it line up the top edge then shave with a exacto knife. Sometimes I will line up the bottom and then when I cut my top I angle my red dot so I cut about a half inch over....hang, shave and move on. Always shave wet right after hanging. ..takes some practice.

Hi Ryker,
Not sure if the Klingon range is available for Earth currently?
Communication with the supplier can be tricky, especially when you don't have a gravitational energy photon receiver. The last time I ordered from the distributor the delivery crew was vaporized by an exploding dwarf star whilst in hyperspace. Their no refunds policy left me 3 standard di-luminum crystals out of pocket, and with no Klingon...
Logistics can be an issue. The nearest stockist is 2-3 light years away. If you want it delivered Express via a tear in space time... That's going to cost you.
Also, I picked up a interstellar communication from a tint shop in Gamma Zone section 12-B. Apparently Klingon are setting up exclusive territories. And our solar system has been allocated to Regon 6J. And we know those guys are just going to keep all of the Klingon for themselves... Or double the price.
There are other good local Milky Way based options, but nothing beats Klingon... The stuff shrinks like butter!
Cheers

Not all cars are the same to tint. You could do 2 Silverado"s in the amount of time it takes to do an accord.

Went great! Easy to tint, just the stomach churning stuff with 1400 for a amp. Customer was really nice and agreed not to hold me responsible since I went above his expectations to keep anything from happening but who wants to mess up someone's weekend
Radio sounded great like when he brought it in so I'm happy!
Global qdp 30 all around.
