Looking for advise for getting in with someone doing hail repair. Last summer/fall I was getting trained by the dent guy that was working out of the body shop I was working at. He spent a lot of time working with me during the time he was here. I have been training on hoods all fall and winter on my own. I am able to fix hoods that had more damage on them than the cost to replace. I took alot of the hoods home that were getting repalced to practice on. When the hail guy was here he said he was going to put me to work this spring. I have talked to him on the phone lately and now he seems kinda funny about putting me to work?? Does anyone have contacts? Any help would be ap…

Having a difficult time making for a clean installation where the windshield sill is involved. When vinyling the roof, I do not have any issues up until where I start tucking the film underneath the windshiend sill or trim. Either I cut it a little too short to make the installation easier and/or it's just a pain in the a**. Is there a trick to installing this without any issues and of course with ease? Specific tools and methods? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So 3M is supposed to be making vehicle wrap material pricing as a set cost. All distributors will have to have to sell at a certain price point which requires us to purchase accordingly. Supposed to be next year sometime along with the release of the new all temp wrap material, anyone have an idea when?

Boat Wrap

I need help on a price. I understand if we cant post that here, but if you can please direct message me if you can help me with this pricing info, that would be greatly appreciated. I have a customer that wants me to install a wrap that they have bought somewhere else on a boat. They sent me pictures of the boat, and the wrap on the boat. Its relatively flat and I have done 2 wraps before, and we also do graphics for signs so there's no doubt that we could handle this job. My question is, how much would you charge to just install this wrap. Me and one other guy doing the work. How long do you estimate it would take and also, I know the adhesives are different on this type…

I've moved the Vehicle Wraps forum out of the 'other trades' section to make it more prominent and it needs a good thumbnail photo for the listing on the front of the forum. Can some of you volunteer some pics that I can choose from to put there? Thanks guys! PS, don't hesitate to put up a thread promoting your wrap business or offers.

Well it appears the topic of 3M being in competition with vehicle wrap shops has hit the fan. Take away thousands of $$$ in business from one of your own customers with sub par work and feel the flame get stoked. Please add you comments to a thread over on Signs101.com. It deals with 3M moving in on Auto Dealerships with partnerships and cutting off other shops on performing wraps on vehicles unless you take their training, use their product, and are part of their organization. Once again 3M using their muscle to push their product and others out of the market. You may agree or disagree but we know that 3M has been watching the thread discussion and posted one response. …

I am the owner of The Dent Pro, a paintless dent repair company in Virginia. Laminate windows are a serious issue in my field. The tempered windows were more resilient, but the laminate windows don't have as much strength and crack. Has anyone on this forum, with PDR experience, figured out a way to work around this? Looking to see what everyone's take is on this, sign warehouse has a 48" for a certain amount and then to go with a 54" is almost $10K more. Why is this? Can some one please help me with the pros and cons of the two. I am looking to purchase one, but I want to know if its worth the extra money. I notice 48" material is harder to find outside of sign warehouse. Thanks
