Never even misplaced my wallet in all my life, and suddenly without warning, its gone. Went to a hunting supply store, had it then, then across the street to eat at a nice restuarant, still had it, went to use it again at the tire shop....GONE. Called the place we ate at, and they did their best to help me without any resolve. It's a pretty nice place, so I didn't really suspect that someone stole it but you never know. My best guess is the damn thing fell out of my pocket somewhere and some punk found it and made it their own. I just bought that damn thing less than a week ago and it cost me a small fortune Here's the worst part.....my fukin' social security ca…

Wire colors for a 1990 Jeep Cherokee remote start?
by Guest jeepjunkie- 1 reply
I'm installing a remote start/alarm/keyless entry in my 1990 Jeep Cherokee. I've got the remote door lock wires figured out but I need some help finding out what color wires are needed for the remote start. I've narrowed it down to where the wires are on the steering column but I can't seem to figure out what wire is the ignition on #1 and what is ignition on #2. I believe that the orange wire is the accessory wire and there's a constant hot (red). There's also a green wire in the same harness that I think it the start wire that goes to the starter coil but I'm not too sure. I know Jeep used a standard GM style steering column so wiring is probably very similar if not e…

Has anyone ever tinted a car on crutches...??? Or hopping around on one foot?? (keep dat Olfa tucked in ) Ok so on the day before Christmas Eve I broke my foot playing indoor soccer. I was in a hard cast up untill 3 days ago. Now Im in a walking air cast. I can get by with only one crutch...but barley. So anyway.....I had an opening to get my Alero in the shop. I was gonna finish off some metal and body work on the azz end, but I figured Id strip the 5 year old film and give it a shot. What did I get myself into..?? (btw, was my first time using SunTek and wow does it ever shrink well, very pleased ) Everything was pretty easy untill it was time to actual…

Tinted windwhields/tinted helmet visor 1 2 3

I was just considering it tonight, I'm getting a tinted visor for my racing helmet and noticed that they are legal, but my windshield still gets trouble even with a doctors note(25%). Why are tinted visors legal while windshields arent? I dont want an argument over how my windshield is tinted but am just curious as to why motorcycle riders can have dark tinted visors and I cant have light tint on my front glass to help my eyes?

I don't know if you guys heard about it or not, but about 3 or 4 blocks away from me, we had a postal worker k!ll 6 people and herself at the postal distribution center in Goleta. She was fired 2 years ago, and was on SRI's (like every other one that does something like this). I guess she moved to Arizona after she was fired and tried to start a newspaper called "the racist" (she was hispanic and thought the white people were the root of all her problems). So she comes back to Goleta and walks into the Post office and kills people she didn't even know. I guess it made the network news for a couple hours. What the hell is it about postal workers? I had a buddy that w…

Thanks to all of you ladies and for the most part gentlemen . The trusty "search" option (+ practice, f'up, practice, practice) has boosted my meager skills, once again. I've done some little B.S. practicing with reverse rolling in the past, but was never really confident enough to try it for real. I know its old hat for a lot of you; but, thanks to my 'lil bit of searchin' and your whole lotta postin', I got it down. Did my first back glass (RR) this evening on the dreaded Corsica. It went very well. Almost zero contamination, and no headache. Thanks again to you all for proving this site isn't just willie and TINT wavin' their dicks in the wind . Anyway, tha…

I have a 1990 Jeep Cherokee and I'm installing a remote start/keyless entry/alarm and I'm having issues, two to be exact. First off, I thougt I had everything wired right. Granted I'm not a trained professional, but I have installed many car stereo systems in my time and thought this souldn't be any more difficult. The alarm unit I have is a generic model with no model name but everything is basic, straight forward wiring. There are 6 wires for the remote locks. 1 orange (normally closed), 1 orange/black (normally closed), 1 yellow (normally open), 1 yellow/black (normally open), 1 white (locking), 1 white/black (unlocking). I have a full wiring diagram that came…

Yesterday on the way to church, my family was in a car wreck. Someone pulled out in front of us and I was driving. We were going about 50. I managed not to hit her directly in the side, but we did get my passenger side and here driver side front together. I have a sprained right foot, in a boot, strained left knee, and bruised left shoulder along with some airbag burn on my left arm. My hubby has a hurt back and neck, but the boys (12 & 5) were fine. The other lady was really upset and was really worried that we were hurt or more importantly the boys were hurt. The car it totaled. I will post pics where it gets daylight enought to get some. We really need your prayer…

Llumar tint 1 2
by Guest LindsayTint- 15 replies
- 4.4k views
I recently found out that there is a local tint distributor in my area and he distributes Llumar Tint. The most attractive thing about switching to Llumar is that if I need a roll today I can either drive to get it or have it couried to me rather quickly, Unlike my current distributor (Solar Gard) who is located in Conneticut with a 2 day delivery time. So my question is, Who uses it is it competative in pricing (no Specifics) and what they like about it and do u agree a local distributor is more beneficial?

?'s about Master XY-380P 32" Cutter and PPF/Tint
by Guest CJ Shades- 7 replies
- 5.4k views
Please do not respond if you have not used or know/heard about the Master XY-380P 32" cutter or similar "Master" cutters. I know how well Rolands and Graphtecs and etc etc work with window film and ppf and am sure you are very happy with your Camm-1 or Panther. I have read a few posts saying that "Master" cutters are great for vinyl only. I have recently purchased one to add vinyl graphics to my business and also to cut signs for myself. I was hoping it would cut ppf and tint as a bonus, but that's not the reason I bought it. I bought it for the price. I have a butt load of vinyl graphics to add to a few of my vehicles and signs and the quote from the sign company t…

Hey, I am definitly not one to give advice but I can honestly say I found something that works on some of those pesky dots on the rear window. I read about sanding the dots on here so I bought some sandpaper and tried to sand them down, and the tint still wouldn't stick. I have recently been overrun with cars with the dots so I had the opportunity to keep trying and finally figured something out. I got a couple of those blocks made of sandpaper, not the hard plastic ones, these are used for sanding drywall mainly, the fine/medium grit ones $2.99 at your local hardware/home improvement store. Did this on 2 grand ams, a sunfire and an eclipse, worked perfect on all of them.…

Does anyone have any recommendations window tinting shops in the DC area that would do a good job on a 2005 Honda Accord 4 door? The only places I've heard of are LA tint and Champion Auto Glass. Any thoughts on either one of these? Thanks for your help. I need to get my windows tinted but want to make sure I get the best for my money.

I am a security film installer in south florida. I use a film handler for 4 mil cutting... I have found it a pain in the arse to load a fresh roll of 8 mil on the handler, get it on the rolls, and proceed to cut it when the weight of the roll can make the ladder shift or maybe even fall. My thoughts are to design a box cutter to encase the box on the floor with slide rules and some sort of cutter head in those slide rules. Is there any company out there that makes such a thing? And if I designed one, would the installers on this board think they could put it to use? Thanks guys...

A teacher asks her class, "If there are 5 birds sitting on a fence and you shoot one of them, how many will be left?" She calls on little BILLY. He replies, "None, they will all fly away with the first gunshot." The teacher replies, "The correct answer is 4, but I like your thinking." Then little BILLY says, "I have a question for YOU. There are 3 women sitting on a bench having ice cream: One is delicately licking the sides of the triple scoop of ice cream. The second is gobbling down the top and sucking the cone. The third is biting off the top of the ice cream. Which one is married?" The teacher, blushing a great deal, replies, "Well, I suppose …

I had a chance to work with another tinter in Philly yesturday and we were doing an install using Huper.. This guy has been in the field for like 18 years and knows his stuff inside and out. Anyway, they were big windows, and we were up on a ladder hanging it... This one piece was flipped upside down and backwards... so he folds, flips, and turns the film like I have never seen before, and wouldn't you know it not a single crease or anything?!? I was standing there amazed as he was doing it. I don't know if it was the film, or just luck that the film was alright.. it was just nuts. Hopefully I'll be able to work with him again.. learn a few new tricks. RoAcH
