If your really doing great work and getting picked then RAISE YOUR PRICES!  I bet you'll find less complaining the higher you get.

This is only IF you are truly doing great work though.

Look at a glass shop, stereo shop, custom auto shop or such that has a bay they don't use much.

I am semi-mobile and work with several such places.  Most sell the jobs. I give all of them a percentage of the job.

I do square foot, based on film used not glass size, minimum price per with discounts as the square foot goes up tiers, additional cost for ladders, really small windows, and hard to reach.

Also a minimum to "unload" cost....

A clear film isn't going to block that much heat.

QDP? Dyed, color stable film. 1.5 mil thick. Aggressive adhesive. Great shrink.

Global makes every component of their film. they make the poly for many other companies....

You won't find a better film IMO.  Not for the price for certain.

How would that look like, the deterioration? Just to have an idea. Also would you know where I could get a hold of some hanita products in California? I was thinking of using 795 to seal it. Is that good? This is the first exterior project we might do so I wanna do it really well and have it last really long. Maybe around 7 to 10 years would be perfect for me already. I was looking into the xtrm line and it seemed the most interesting and safest for durability and lifespan.

We’ve seen this many times. Considering 50% of our truck jobs are Silverado’s or Tahoe’s or their gmc counterpart. Previous 10 years as a ford dealership technician leads to contacts in other mannys. I spoke with one. He said this is a widely known issue on especially the 14 and 15 models. GM used an unknown company for their “panel protectant”. The dealerships see them constantly from simple water from rain or spills. We even tried plastic covers. But if left u attended the humidity and moisture alone will sweat the coating loose!  GM technician as well as my own advice if this happens. Used a non abrasive white scrub pad and distilled water with a drop of cheap hair conditioner. And scrub the rest of the panel down to remove the top coat evenly. Pat dry and wait 10 min. Good as new. Hope this helps!

Film is cheap in the cost of a window tint job. Don't buy your own film. I for one will not even consider putting on any film but what I offer!

Would you take your own eggs to Dennys?

I've seen this on an older gm suv.  Grab a scrub pad and scrub it until it stops peeling then put on some vinyl protectant.

Ryker got a reaction from MT1 in Blue Max Squeegee Blade vs Orange Crush Squeegee Blade- why and why no
I was a die hard blue max guy until RIchard at Solar Control St Louis got me to try the "new" orange crush.  I can say that I will NEVER go back to the blue max.  Blue max edges were wearing out quicker on me than the Crush is...

I can also say that the recent orange crush does not leave any marks...I had one of the older ones and it did but not the new ones....

Tried the "clear max" and did NOT like it.

Sounds like a laminated window.  In general you don't heat a laminated glass. Evenly heating can go way farther than a spot heating though.

Just don't get a spot too hot like any piece of glass.

Only drawback I find on this is if you're doing a lot of cleaning or film removal you can run out.  I think it's 45 minutes worth of steam.   It's good for a full normal car removal though.

Probably not two layers just 1 multilayer film.  Could be factory glass plus film though
