I've got a week at Xmas....is there a lot to do in H with a Mrs and 3 teenagers? Pearl harbour for sure. I was there in 76 which was a long time ago. Did the Dow pineapple bit, the Poly Cultural village, the Waikiki beach waves thing. Can't remember much of it now...the others have never been. It's either there or a cruise around the Fijian islands. Need your advice being Americans and all. Cheers, Devil

What percentage of sides do you shrink????? 1 2
by Guest redgtxdi- 17 replies

Was curious how many sides get shrunk these days. After the late 80's cars started rounding at the top causing compound radius..........(early 90's Honda Civic were a behotch IIRC with their huge & curved side roll ups on the coupes & hatches).........and shrinking became mandatory. Now, cars are starting to square up a bit more.......(at least in the cabin).........but perhaps it's just easier to shrink 'em regardless to save time on the back end fightin' fingers....?? And, also.......I actually used to just use my drop light to warm up the tops before workin' on the bottom of a rollup. Do folks use the heatgun on low...(or a ways back)......to dry up the top…

Clear BG, peel or scrape????????

OK, so one of the big reasons for me lurkin' this board lately is my recent acquisition of a '95 Geo Prizm. (I have a '98 Camry and '98 F150, but the F150's MPG was killin', so needed a beater to get MPG in). It's in good shape, even has tinted windows.......(Purple Rain?).......LOL!!! Needs retint......(not horrible, but definitely purple & I h@te purple).....so I've gotta remove it all. ****Says "Texas Custom Tinting" in the corners if they're still around or anybody knows 'em....shout out!***** After searchin' all the stuff for removing, I was wonderin' how I should tackle the back glass. (This'll be my first shrinking attempt in 17 years...LOL). It's go…

The perfect cut..........then........

So about 10yrs ago I had a nice little setup in my 1 car townhome garage. A piece of clear plexi on the wall......(my holding glass)......my little jacked up waist pouch.......(I think it was a home depot thing cut up). Anyway........... Another post made me recall my '89 Mazda pickup. Best thing about this sucker was the roll ups. You could literally pull ALL gaskets & have nothing but metal, open air, glass, more open air and metal again!!! Sashes snapped out.........perimeter gasket pulled out easily......(nice, soft rubber) and the little side-view mirror triangle either screwed or snapped out (don't remember which). Anyway, I get this PERFECTLY cut piece…

So I notice this cheap crap I picked up at Pep Boys to do an emergency job.......(don't ask me the name, I don't remember).........has a reeeeally green tint to it. Granted this is 20% and I'm looking at it right next to a 35% that's gone pretty dang purple, but I can't recall seein' so much green before. Anybody noticed variances between films &.........(most importantly for this thread)...................got a favorite??????????? Example: Llumar regular = greyish Llumar metalized = greenish Llumar sputtered = brownish (Above are fictitious examples.........I just went to the Llumar site & realized they have waaaaaay too many films these days for their ow…

just did my first and fastest install on a 4 dr car. I guess I never really tried to do one extra fast, but I feel invincible now. it was a 98 4 dr accord, pretty easy I guess, but in my 5 years of tinting, ive never done anything that fast. I got it all on tape too. ahhhh, I feel good. anyways, anyone who wants the key to this sucess, just pop in some slipknot and rock and roll. ok, now you guys can hit me with w/e you got, im sure ill get some sh*t for this one.

crazy paramedic story

right out of HS I was an EMT for a while. but I found out you have to deal with to many stupid people, and all calls were not adrenaline related. so I got out of it. (ive already got enough issues) still have a lot of buddies who are firemen/amb drivers.....great customers. I love the stories of teh calls they run. heres the latest. so, needless to say they spend a lot of time posting at local hangouts waiting for work. (still getting paid of course) so their posted at this gas station watching this wiskey tango bizzo pumping her gas with a cig hangin out of her mouth. cherry falls off onto her flanel.....whoooomph....her arm in flames. she tried to get it to go out, …

clear glue 1 2 3

Hey, I read somewhere on here that someone said he couldn't find the glue for the dots at Wal-Mart. Look in the craft/fabric dept. Be careful, it will make a mess if you use too much, also, I was wondering if anyone's had to strip a back window that's been glued, I haven't had the pleasure yet, seems like it could suck.

Just when things get interesting (Vit posts...Mazda 3) the topic gets closed before those of us can get a chance to dump a justifiable load. I know what the poor sod had served up. A film out of Asia that some cheap arse smuck tinter (that shouldn't give up his day job) thought he could save a few bucks on at the expense of a better known USA manufacturer. The tinter is obviously an astute businessman and professional with quality work like that and quality product. Devil
