Yesterday was a very damp day here. We had a high temp two days ago of 19F, and the high yesterday was in the 50s. The dampness reminded me of the climate in NW Washington (no offense nt!). I had to use my heat gun just to get the sizing (soap) to dry on the back glass of a car I was ready to shrink, before I even layed the film on it. I did get the stuff to dry with the gun, but the damp weather caused the film to stick on the back glass terribly, totally reducing my ability to do any shrinking at all. I had to constantly pick up the film and heat the glass underneath to get the film to float on the glass. A shrink job that would normally take about eight minutes, …

Hello I just bought a 94 nissan altima SE and well theres damage to the paint. The Car looks like it was sitting under the sun for a very long time without moving it. There is a clear cut line straight down the middle of the car. One side is decent and the other is sun damaged and it looks like there is a sticky dirty film on it?!? I'm not sure what its from. but as being a kid I dont have money to pay for a good detailing job. I have about 30 bux and a electric buffer. any help on products or anything that can get this mess off or anything. I can post pictures if you need them. but it honestly looks like there is a film of sticky swirling sun damage. Also does anyone …

Ive been tought only one way to install film and it is by using a sprayer with an inline filter and saturating the window and flushing the edges then installing the film. A competitor of mine uses a 2 quart hand held poly sprayer for the whole car and I dont know how its done. It pisses me off because the windows come out spotless, but I can flush the crap out of a window and still get a speck or two. I would like to learn this technique to not only save water but to keep from putting so much water in the customers car.

A man walks into a Dr*g store with his 8-year old son. They happen to walk by the condom display, and the boy asks,"What are these, Dad? To which the man matter-of-factly replies, "Those are called condoms, son. Men use them to have safe s*x.""Oh I see," replied the boy pensively. Yes, I've heard of that in health class at school." He looks over the display and picks up a package of 3 and asks, "Why are there 3 in this package? " The dad replies,"Those are for high school boys, ONE for Friday, ONE for Saturday, and ONE for Sunday." "Cool" says the boy. He notices a 6 pack and asks, "Then who are these for?" "Those are for college men," the dad answers, TWO for Friday, …

I got some good money to just remove 4 mil safety film from 30+ windows at a computer store. Its anchored down with that DuPont black adhesive and it looks like R35. When I try to strip it the two layers (silver and thick clear) seperate and the 4 mil clear breaks up when I pull on it. Is there an easier way? any presoaking or steaming trick? Also what is a readily available adhesive remover? Simple green? I have SD-20 but its in small spraycans I need something by the Gallon

.....must be nonexistant. just got back from nashville, went to see the predators play the stars. saw not one single car tinted legally. NOT ONE. NOT ONE. every car I saw that had film, was tinted !llegally. it was so bad, my wife even noticed it. there's lots of !llegally tinted cars in texas, but in a parking lot, probably half, or more, are tinted legal. I couldn't find one anywhere I went in tennessee. what's the deal? they just not inforce the law there? or does no one care? or both? and what's the deal with the freakin eyebrows? every car had an eyebrow covering half the damn windshield. that's so 80's.

Remote Starter Problem????????
by Guest Big Delo- 1 reply

I had a remote starter installed 2 months ago. I tried to start my 2002 Jeep Cherokee using the remote start. Nothing happened. I then tried to unlock the doors using the keyless entry & then that didn?t work (everything worked fine 10 minutes earlier). Then I manually unlocked the door & pressed the remote start while sitting in the car. It just clicks a few times, the instrument needles on the dash jump a little, & then nothing. It doesn?t even do anything if I put the key in & turn it forward. I do get power if I turn the key backward into the accessory position, but I noticed my stereo was now on am 530, with all the presets erased. I called the place …

Lifesavers A teacher was doing a study testing the senses of first graders, using a bowl of Lifesavers. The children began to say: " Red............cherry," "Yellow.........lemon," "Green..........lime," "Orange.........orange," Finally the teacher gave them all honey Lifesavers. After eating them none of the children could identify the taste. "Well," he said, "I'll give you all a clue, It's what your mother may sometimes call your father." One little girl looked up in horror, spit her Lifesaver out and yelled: "Oh My God!!!! They're assholes!"

Dear boys and girls, I know this is very short notice, but I wish to tender my resignation. This is not a decision I have taken lightly. But I feel you have given me no alternative. This action might have been averted if my pleas last year, the year before and the past umpteen years had not gone completely unanswered. But I am sick of the silence, you hear! I have had enough of being taken for granted. Mrs Claus has had enough. The elves have had enough. And Rudolph the red-nose reindeer and all the other reindeers have had enough (in fact, they're the most angry. They wanted to do one more Christmas Eve run just so they could poop down everyone's chimney but I p…

Dot Matrix - Last thing to Conquer 1 2
by Guest Tintim- 13 replies

Hi all, I know you've done it to death ! In trying to turn out the perfect tint job on any car in a short time, hours - the one thing that always lets it down ,or gives it away as tint film, is the dot matrix especially when using a quality metalised film. Tried wire wool, emery paper solvents, thinners, etc, yet to try glue as it sounds messy. I will not give up !!! Everyone must have pushed down dotted areas on a car at some time, next day, three days or a week later and seen how much better they sit once the film has become dryer. But have you noticed how the dots sit down much better if you have had to re-do a window? On vauxhall cars this is especially the c…

by Guest Shady- 11 replies

I know some of you guys don't agree with putting anything on the front drop glass windows but any help would be greatly appretiated. I tinted a Honda CRX Coupe with 50% tried and trusted film. The front doors have no frame and the film rubs against the seal. This has caused it to peel and crease in the corner twice now on the drivers side. Once it was OK for two months and when the customer brought it back I tinted it again and she left it up for 48 hours. Within this 48 hours it has peeled and crunched up in the corner again. These cars have a removable roof and you can see from the rubbing on the seal's its as tight as a nun. (no offence intended). I haven't tinted for …

Not much of a horror story, but amusing non the less........ I got done tinting a four wheel drive Durango with big tires and a mild lift. Well, our install bay is a block down from the main store, so we end driving around the block in a big circle, anyway, I back out of the bay, pull out of the drive, right, speed hump, to the stop, right, speed hump (popular here in Fl.), stop, straight, speed hump, right, right again back into main parking lot. When I pull up, there's a bunch of people outside staring at the truck, laughing. I don't know what's up, I figure homeboy said something funny, ya know. I get out of the truck, and there's my heatgun, about twenty feet behind…

Why take rear decks out?? 1 2 3
by Guest De4thMet4LKing00- 28 replies
- 2.1k views
I am a new member on this forum, and I have read countless topics on many different cars about how many of you guys take out the rear decks. I guess IM just curious as to why you take the time to take them out, when you really don't have to. It seems that it wastes too much time, and there is a possibility that something will either tear, break, etc. The ONLY rear deck I ever take out is the 95-up cavalier 2 dr. just because it is pretty diifficult to get to the bottom because the rear deck is so close to the glass (plus its so easy to take out). I'm not hating on you guys, Im just curious

I have a church that has frosted glass in it and they want to add film to it. The frosted side is facing the outside. The interior side is semi-smooth. It seems to have a very light grain to it, not as smooth as normal glass. Anyone ever experienced this before?
