ok 10 year old 3m tint. during the removal it left the sticky layer. as usual. tried steam, spray and sun steam, heat, tint off spray, praying, and more praying. still nothing is helping. sun steaming did help shrivel it up some. should i try windex and sun steam again? about to point to just replacing bg. trying to keep defroster.

I've tried tinting it many times. If anyone has tinted it before could you please give me a step by step walkthrough on how your shrink the tint? I've only managed to shrink it perfectly once and I can't seem to replicate it. I've tried to work each individual finger all the way up then move on to the next finger. I've tried going back and forth horizontally. Usually what ends up happening is that I'll end up with a corner that refuses to shrink anymore. Then in my efforts of heating it I'll get it hot enough to crease the film. Then it leaves a little whitish mark and I can't get the tint to lay down flat around it. Whats the best strategy for this window? Am I missing …

I don't think I have ever tinted one of these before. I have a 2009 Galant coming in this weekend and was wondering if there is anything to watch out for? I looked at some pictures online and they appear to be straight forward and simple but you never know sometimes. I did not see any other topics on this car, so I figured I would start one.

Has anyone got any tips on how to more easily remove the plastic surround that holds the internal door release handle? It is such a pig of a design. The bottom of it has a wire and the top of it has the world's nastiest clip that just doesn't want to come out easily. The design ruins an otherwise easy door trim removal. devil

2001 eclipse. need ideas on removing paint from matrix. 1 2

I am just a customer. never tinted a day in my life, but am ready to have my windows tinted, by a professional. when I bought my car a few weeks ago, it had a really crappy CHROME tint on the windows and was absolutely hideous. I of course removed all the tint from the car, but I am left with the dot matrix on the rear window it has been spray painted. the pro tinter I talked to said he will be able to tint the matrix, and make it look perfect, without the use of paint or vinyl. but wants to charge me an extra 80 bucks just to remove the paint, and said its a pain in the ass. so to avoid having to pay an extra 80, and to prevent him from having to remove someone els…

Problem with 2007 Outlander
by Guest Oh_Yeah- 7 replies

Hi there just got a question, we are having a problem with 2007 mitsubishi outlanders, when u tint the window, put the panel and rubber back in, then wind it up and down .. it leaves 2-3 big scratch lines in the film , the scratches just go straight up and down. We have tried modifying the rubber inserts and still having no success .. just wondering has anyone else had this problem before?? its the 2007 ones .. it seems to be mainly the 2 front doors. thanks in advance.

Pajero

Straight forward job, but wee bit harder if you have wind deflector on windows. Cuts have to be made on the inside. Only 1 rubber need to be cut on rear static window as there is huge amount of space for other rubbers to move, just bend them toward you. I always take spare wheel of rear door and centre brake light off as well. Shogun has TWO cargo area side windows, one of which slides-not as easy-price accordingly-the overlap is always filthy. Hope this helps

I was doing an eclipse convertible unframed window the other day and I had a really hard time tucking the film inside the rubber plastic on the side of the window if you know what I mean. Its the black rubber part that is at the end of the side window, It is so tight that its frustrating trying the film in there, is there any easier way to do this

2001 Eclipse Convertible
by Guest viol8r4- 5 replies

I recently tinted a 2001 eclipse convertible, this is the first convertible I have tinted. The driver has called me back and twice I have had to re-do the drivers side roll up due to peeling at the top. I used suntek HP and havent had any problems from this roll on any other car. I was wondering if it could be something to do with the convertible top and the seal around the window? I put a thin layer of vaseline on the seal the second time and it still peeled? The last time I made a more noticeable gap at the top of the window hoping that works...my fingers are crossed. But any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Was working at my local Mitsu dealer, when the service manager told me he spoke to a dealer in Florida that had tinted 10 new '07 Outlanders and the film peeled up on all the roll ups. In fact Mitsu sent a bulletin to all their dealers telling them NOT to tint that vehicle because of a new window channel system. Anyone hear of this? Tinted one? Mo

I'm wondering how these rear door window are to install. I may have on coming in soon and I hate 1/4 windows. Just did some on a Toyota a couple weeks ago and they sucked BAD. I'm not a panel puller so if anyone has any tips or pointers for these 1/4 panels or any for that matter, I am listening intently. If I have to start pullin panels so be it. It sounds like some of you pull the glass right out? Holla FB

got 'er done the frameless roll-ups are cake... but the window cracks itself like the BMW when you open & shut the door the rear quarters are tougher to get to but cake the front gay quarters are easier than the civic's, since they are on the door the back glass is much easier than the 04'ish ones the strip dosen't want to stick..but it is hard to see air in the matrix through the dye a 6" strip is very thin anyway 2 hours and I was taking my sweet azz time

2006 Montero review

An interesting review on the 2006 Mitsubishi Montero SUV, with information on features, performance, safety and design, and also a nice picture gallery. "It?s not often that an SUV can be all things to all people. But that?s exactly what you get with the 2006 Montero. The Montero is a bona-fide off-road legend. Specially prepared versions have won the grueling Dakar Rally for the last five years running. Success like that doesn?t come easy. It comes from pure capability. And Montero has it in spades, with the technology to master any terrain..." Here's the whole article: http://www.topspeed.com/cars/mitsubishi/mi...ro-ar12097.html

hey guys, I was working on a 3000Gt yesterday and had a lot of difficulty w/ the driver and passenger glass. I think its because the glass was really curvy. the tint just kept bubbling and eventually folded. I tried twice and it didnt work out. do I need to using the shinking method for this?
