Rear and Side defroster
by Guest tankster- 6 replies

I purchased a minivan from a dealer that put aftermarket tint on the rear 5 windows. It looked nice at night when I bought it. The next day I realized the side defroster was all bubbled up, the other 4 had a few bubbles and lots of contamination. I took it back to the dealer and complained. They said it was warrantied. and they would retint it I said no just remove it and I'll take it to a place I trust. Well I should have figured if they couldn't tint then they probably couldn't remove tint either. My question is should the defroster lines look discolored in all various places? Is this normal or is my defroster screwed? I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I figured if…

I'd just like to give y'all an update on my situation. Still workin for redbull and the futon shop and still going to school 12 hours per week (at least 30 hours study time per week though). The car is breaking down so I'm gettin a 2001 subaru Impreza 2.5 RS and looking forward to modding it and whatnot. I have although hung up my squeegee. Too much time and effort to do a tint job these days...customers aren't happy so I have to go back home again (1.5 hour drive) and with the pri…

There is a leading shop in my area that has held the highest reputation for years, but the highest prices as well. One of his tinters left and opened up thier own shop offering perfect work at half the price... many other tint shops are flooding in the market and I just got started. This is how I am beating this epidemic.... Ive decided to go mobile and have gone to three struggling shops in the area and set up sub-contracts to bring full prices into the market and save them from dealing with the tint. At this point thier reputations are recovering and they all charge the full-price.. Instead of being my competition, they are my customers now. Its a pain in the dick …

To all protinters and masters who used to start out practicing before becoming a legend, where do you all buy your films from and what brand?? I have tried to call a local distributor for Llumar films but they told me that I need a business license before buying film from them How can I get my license if I am just starting out and wanting to practice to tint before even thinking about opening a tint shop? I want to buy Llumar films. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to obtain films for practice w/o having a business license? Need help.....

Air bubbles in Tint HELP
by Guest bobthepainter- 9 replies
- 2.4k views
Hey all, Recently my power windows in my passenger side have been acting up and the window has been moving extremely slow. I thought it was the motor at first but it turned out to be a grease build up. Anyways the grease built up on the corner of the window and made the window stick to the car. When the door was opened the grease made the door stick and I think it "pulled" at the window tinting. There are now a bunch of tiny air bubbles in the corner of the window where the grease was. Is there any way to get these out or does the window need to be re-tinted? Thanks PS: The car is a 95 chevy camaro

how much contamination is acceptable? I have been putting llumar ATR on for about 5 yrs now in ne colorado where the wind blows all the time and it almost seems impossible to not get atleast one speck somewhere on the install. most never complain or even see it, but a couple of times I have had some majorly 4|\|4L customers who couldnt live with a speck or two that u need a microscope to see anyway. it just pisses me off bad when this happens because they think its so easy to put on. any comments or suggestion on this would be great

What a great time we had meeting Friday night on my visit to WA. Everything is so far apart there, so I know everyone had to drive quite a ways just to make this meeting happen, but it was well worth it. I had a terrific time there, and have some pics. I am totally busy today, catching up on what I missed last week, and normal appointments for today. I will elaborate on our evening and post pics when I get more time to surf here later this week.

Viper 160xv Remote Start
by Guest MiddExplorer2003- 6 replies
- 3.5k views
I just purchased a 2003 Ford Explorer XLT with Viper 160xv installed. At the lot, the remote start and all functions worked fine. After purchase, remote start did not engage starter. Upon activation the instrument panel lights up as if to start, but the starter does not crank. The dealer had no clue how to use the remote so there was a lot of button mashing, but did manage to start remotely if the key is in the ignition and in the "on" position. Then read warning not to do that. Have install manual: - Viper does not seem to "learn Tach signal" when that step is performed. - switched menu to "engine check off" and "voltage engine check" as well as "voltage check hi…

For the future posters of "do you want me gone" ..."do you like me" , etc. I have this to say: Your not the first to think of posting this ...but hopefully the last if you read this. If your presence is liked here ...the odds are you'll know it by the types of responses you'll get back. If your presence is not liked here...again...the odds are you'll know it by the types of responses you'll get back. From this , the next step is obvious... If your presence is liked, you won't think of starting a thread like that. If your presence is not liked you have 3 choices: 1. You can ship out and avoid the humiliation of members pointing out publically what you already know …
