I do all of my work outof a 2 bay garage that has central air, however, as you know, when you roll in a car from out in the heat, it's still hotter than heck in the back seat...her's what I've been doing for the last few yrs..and it's made my life a lot more comfortable. you take a flexible duct hose and attach it to one of the air openings ..there usually about 6 or 7 inches in diameter and the hose only costs about $10-15..fasten the one end..and tape up the other end of the hose(so it doesn't scratch the car). You pipe in your flexible hose into the car..PRESTO..it's like running the air conditioner in the car..nice and cool in no time. You cool your inside of car down…

Does anyone know the specs on Llumar tint? (especially on heat rejection?) I will probably get 50% or 35% tint.

I had my worst tinting injury ever yesterday. I was tinting a house in tyler and fell off the ladder onto concrete. it was an outside overhang, covering a patio and had windows in the top portion. the windows are too high to see through, but at 4:00 in the afternoon, the sun comes right through them and onto the pation. it was right by a pool, so the concrete was that small rock crap that hurts to even walk on it, but keeps you from slipping when it's wet. the ladder just fell to one side and my feet were about 5 feet off the ground. it definately could have been worse. but all I ended up with was a cut up knee, elbow, and hand. once I got the blood to stop, it wasn't tha…

I am thinking about making some of these for my house, you can get the material at lowes, it claims 80% heat rejection and it comes in different colors, I tinted a ladys storm door thursday and she had a company install it on her house, you could see out but it seemed like you were in the shade looking out. seems like this would go hand and hand with tint blocks alot of heat and you dont have to worry about glass breakage. I am going to find a way to make a frame and mount this stuff myself anybody use this stuff or have it on their house?

I will start once I had a polo cologne bottle that only had a few ounces left in it, I got some plyers and pryed the spray top off and pissed in it untill it was full, I got the plyers and swueezed the pump spray back on, me and my buddy robert took it over to his nephews house (who was the same age as us) and put it in his mailbox, couple days later he was bragging that some (girls) must have brought him a "preasant" he went into the story of finding it in the mail box and his friend was over at the time and the were spraying it all over each other and they couldnt believe somebody would give this to them free we never told those dumosses the real story

Because "Free Trade" is ...Canadians can't work in the US and Americans can't work in Canada unless you can prove no one in the country can do it but you or it is one of the trades the US needs (doctors, nurses...not Lawyers, you have enough of them!)

I checked out an old appartment today, and the manager said it was tinted 30 years ago(not likely) with a film called solar X. Anyone hear of it, use it in the good ole days? Know who made it? The film was a mess. Couldn't see out of it... Full of big round air pockets (install or bubbling?) It may turn out into a large re & re.

Question for shop owners 1 2
by Guest MITYMIKE- 17 replies
- 1.6k views
I'm thinking of buying a shop that has been in the same location for the past twenty or so years. The store stays pretty busy year round without any advertising. The owner works alone there and has been running it for about the last ten years. He's selling it because he's semi retiring (has another business he's starting)and moving. The store is located on a very busy street and is the front facing unit. He wants about 70 grand for it, and will take a down and carry the balance. Here's what concerns me: There is no lease on the building, it's been month to month since he's been there. Since he's done all the work himself, he has the reputation more than the store. Basical…

Law VS Cutting 3rd brake light out 1 2 3
by Guest FastBackJack- 28 replies
- 2.5k views
Just wondering if anybody has trouble with local police or highway patrol in their area about 3rd brake lights and whether the are or are not aloud to be covered by tint. I personally dont give a sh!t. I tint right over the damn things because I think cutting them out looks bad, plus without a plotter its a pain in the ass! But the other day I tinted and old ass busted Buick for a CHP and he made me cut it out, stating that is was illegal to tint over it. As far as I can understand, here in Cali the law seems very vague and kinda sketchy when it comes to this. What do you guys think?

There are sometimes things that need to be discussed, such as marketing strategies, competition etc, that dont need to be public. The only semi private area here is the Foo Bar, but all you have to do to see it is register. Should I privatize the Foo Bar, and require a certain number of posts to get in?

by Guest buddym- 14 replies

In soliciting advise from you guys, let me first say, I enjoy reading all the posts and have a lot of respect for anyone who is good at what they do( well, except terrorists, Oprah...). In trying to tint my windows, I AM NOT trying to take bread from anyone's mouth, or denigrate the work of professionals. I doing it 1) because I like to do stuff like this and 2) its more convenient than finding a place nearby with the tint I want.( Auto tinting has really dried up in the 15+ years since Illinois adopted it's current idiotic laws). Anyway- I intend to tint the front rolldown windows of a Honda Odyssey with Quantum( a nice match with the factory tint on other windows). Aft…

thinking of doing graphic kits on cars. But it takes too long when you put it on wet. Can you get good enough to put it on dry without getting air bubbles. If a air brush kit cost $40 ( 6" x 86") what do you think it should go for retail? Any one out there doing it as a side line. The hardest part is getting the customer to choose on . They cant even choose tint colors and there only 5 or 6 .

legality of fade film 1 2 3

okay, ive been wondering if the fade film would be legal in my state if I put the 35% darkness onthe front doors? (which is the legal limt for light transmission.) is it still illegal becuase of the mirror or does the 35% light transmission of the film make it legal.the law books dont make it quite clear enough.
