got a couple to do. did one tonight at the dealership the quarters are tinter freindly now no having to pull quarters. the rollups need to be shrunk, I normally strectch film but these get some gnarly fingers so save yourself the trouble the lower seals can be tucked and flipped up prettys easy. the back glass seems to be easier to shrink than the last and the back deck is different comes up a little on each lower corner like the newer subaru legacy sedan I think.

Just finished the 2012 Civic Coupe......overall, easy car to tint. BG has dot matrix all around, including the one on top as the previous model. Bulldozer highly recommended for the BG. For panel pullers, just pull top gasket back...plenty of room to slip film behind. 30 min tops.

The privacy glass has a blue-ish hue from the interior - The color difference seems to be very noticable. anyone familiar with the new hondas noticing the same issue or have a tint to recommend?

Anyone done one? There is a big contraption attached to the windshield where the rear view mirror mounts. I don't want to risk getting that wet and wrecking it. I wonder if it can be removed from the windshield? I might get lucky and be able to do the windshield out of the car since they may already be replacing it due to a rock chip.

Civic hatchback BG 1 2

I have tried 3 times now to tint this BG, on a 96 Honda civic hatchback. I'm no way near a pro only have done maybe 10 cars. This one is kicking my ass I'm having problems with corners to shrink them down. I look up the other 2 topic on this model BG, and tried that was said in them. I left the top and bottom long so I could tried to pull and shrink it but I can't seem to get it, I even tried during it on low heat.

A heads up on removing the plastic surround which hides 2 screws behind it where the internal door trim grab handles are..... There is a tiny slot at the bottom for a screwdriver to be inserted to release this poor design plastic U shaped clip. Once inserted, you have to push down in order to release this moulding and then it will come out. It's a shocking POS and to the inexperienced it can be damaged. Same with the rear doors but be very careful of the large plastic black moulding which sits on top of the door trim in the corner. This triangle piece has to be edged out from the rear section of it as there is a central plug and the larger vertical side pivots on rem…

Looks like a 30 min Tint. But those easy ones seem to make my day horrible? Is there any little tricks to this one? O and its a race car do all the plastics and all the inside of the car its bare metal so no removal of interior will be necessary. Thanks in advance. I'm possibly just stressing a cake job.

I really under quoted on this one. First off the far rear sides are different sizes (can't double cut). The ones I've done the rear windows don't roll down, which are cake, but these roll down and you have to climb in one side of the car to install. These also have very skinny 1/4's behind the rolls downs, they have a matrix and are easy, but still is another set of windows. ...9 windows total. I'm gonna price this one much higher than a large suv.

Had to do the back window & 1/4's of a new 2012 CRV the other day .. That back glass was NOT fun! Granted I'm no professional as some of you professionals are, but they deffinatley made it harder to shrink. Easily took me 2-3 times as long as the previous ones used to. 1/4's easy, doors (though this customer didn't want them done) looked dead easy just like the old ones. Just a heads up. Here's a link to the pic of it: https://picasaweb.google.com/113410015113161550181/WindowTint#5769179508056471234 iPad makes it so hard to post pics.

So I am a rookie but when I started tinting I had a really experienced mentor (almost 30 years). I do not have him anymore as I regretably have moved on from his company. Anyway, I have now twice tried to shrink and install back glass on friend's 88 Accord. Looked relatively easy, but not so much. I used the drier sheet method as I have used before, shrank most of the window with no issues. The edges of the window gave me serious hassle where the curve is the greatest. I expected that. However I was able to finally get it shrunk down after an hour of fighting with it. The first install I cut my usual 1/8" past dot matrix. This did not work! It was too big. Plus I realiz…

2012 Honda Odyssey Stock UVA/ UVB Rating?
by Guest pulp25- 0 replies
- 1.2k views
Hi I just purchased a 2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L. No one at the dealership could even guess at the stock uva/ uvb rating on this vehicles factory tint. Is there a resource to look it up, or is it possible to check it some way? I've looked everywhere I cant seem to find this information, I dont want to waste money on an aftermarket tint job if the van already has good ava/avb protection. Thanks in advance for any help!

Im new to tinting and have only been doing it for about 2 months so any help will be appreciated. The rear quarters on this car have been giving me %&$#. Im having a hard time cutting them right and laying it out so there is no gap. Any tips or tricks??? I read through all the other posts and nothing really shed any light on it for me. The rubber gasket just covers so much and I dont know how to get tint under it cleanly. Should I just remove the glass from the door? Id love to avoid that. Thanks guys I appreciate it.

Ok, i consider myself as a decent tinter and can dry/shrink much larger rear window that has little curve to it like 92 accord, 92 integra, 94 legend with no problem. But today i was shocked that this rear window kicked my butt. Is it just me or is this rear window harder than it is? I feel very discourage because its a freakin civic hatchback and the rear doesn't appear to be that big at all. I tried dry/wet method but with no success cuz of the big fingers in the corners. I am planning to attempt it one last time, but would like some advice first. Whats the best method for this particular window wet or dry? how should i anchor? please help, than…
