Cutting System For Paint Protection And PPF
by Guest clc- 3 replies
- 1.4k views
I am just getting into the Paint Protection field after 4 years of vinyle wrapping because of the number of request for installs. I have been purchasing kits online and doing the installs with fairly good success. I am in need of a plotter because I have been getting my business from a local sign shop which does all the artwork then send the wraps to me for install and have never had the need for a plotter. Now things are changing. Please give your opinions after you vote. Thanks.

Eraser wheel 1 2

I used an eraser wheel on an enclosed trailer to get off old glue from a prior vinyl job... does anyone have any clue how to get off what seems to be the scuff from the eraser wheel?? I tried wax, scuff pad and alcohol, rubbing compound, and just rubbin it with a plain dry towel.... the dry towel gets it off but takes a ton of work... the rubbing compound works but who wants to rubbin compound and wax an entire 14 foot by 8 tall trailer.... gotta be an easier way

trying to match a white hockey stick stripe on side of a 11 camaro. Wouldn't be such a big deal but it also has the hood stripes so your able to see both at the same time. I've tried avery, universal, lg, oracal and everything is way to bright white. This is almost an off white. What brand are the oem stripes that they put on, does anyone know?

I have got a redsail cutter and use winpc sign letter 2005. On my cutter I can only adjust the incriments of pressure by 10. Setting the pressure at 110 means the blade only just touches the vinyl, and using 120 pressure means it cuts straight through the back paper. Can anyone help me out please

I use a DGI OM150 specially set up for tint and can also cut vinyl on it using a different blade. However my friend has a Roland sp-540v. Will he be able to cut film on this? Other people say they have problems cutting film so are the plotters different or is it just a case of changing blades, pressure etc?

Thinking about starting to use this for our stripes. Anyone used them yet? They have good color choices and longevity, just wondering if anyone has used them. Also thinking about the 951 series as well, but the 970 is thicker by 2 mils...any input would be great! Thanks!

Since I posted a request. I feel I owe a tip in return. I have seen topic after topic on what software program is the best. Well I can honestly say from experience of using numerous programs for months. That I feel I can give a true answer to this question. Unlike the guys who have only used one or two programs and give you an answer based on that. I have used Precision cut, Tintek, Computercut, expel, madicos program ( forget the name) I will give you my experience with all of these programs... Tintek= poor patterns for many cars, many cars are not even in the system. Too long until new vehicles are in the system. software is just too plain and gives you minima…

Well just my luck today i purchased a whole used operation from the local Mercedes dealership that didn't want it anymore, got the plotter, all of their old film,a VERY nice and also 450LB glass lighted table. and as you know it i had to haul the tables down 2 flights of stairs, as we get to the bottom, boom the glass breaks, of course! anyways the glass is 78 inches by 46 and 1/8th inches and is 10mm thick glass. talking to the guy at the glass shop he said that you cant use 5mm thick glass because of the pressure put on it when cutting, but my table does have supports in the middle so i am not sure if this is true, as you can imagine a sheet of 10mm in that size is a …

I downloaded the trial version of coreldraw x5 to see if it would do what i needed but with little to no experience i think i may need pointed in the right direction as to what i might need to do. Thats the image i am trying to cut the letters out of, once i get the far ill deal with the rest but i think i need to take it one step at a time. With the other images I cut out I used the "contour" options and was able to make them l…
