I have seen a few of the new CLK Mercedes with this kinda light blue film, at least I'm assuming it's a film, but it almost looks like the glass...Anyone know about this and who sells it? Thanks

What do Pinnacle 25 and 15 usually meter out to on the glass? I ask because the tint on one window was damaged and I had to get it replaced. It was supposed to be Pinnacle 15, but the installer said it must be 25 because of what it metered at (he didn't give me the number). After install the 25 tint meters at 24 and the other window meters at 20, which seems like a big difference if they are indeed the same tint percentage.

For my wiki, what is the correct terminology I am observing Ceramic Back Glass , looking direct from Drivers Seat - Polarized Sunglasses - everything is clear Ceramic Back Glass, looking at rear view mirror, Polarizied Sunglasses What I see is a diamond-eqsue pattern of greens/reds/and a smidge of yellow/oranish patterns across the whole film. I'm sure there is a tint - technical word for what I am seeing. Be curious what is it.

Hey everyone i searched the forum, there were a few mentions for the black pearl ceramic but didnt really help me so i started this topic. I live in a warm country in Europe and thinking of getting Madico ceramic in my store as a good ceramic film since i cant get any other good ceramic in my hands. I have asked around and i am getting mixed answers..Some say its a top notch film and some others say it turns purple in 2 years or so and the company doesnt warranty it after all Has anyone in this forum tried it?Does it shrink well?Does it haze alot?

Ive had this issue since I started tinting and being self taught makes it tough when you dont know how to remedy an issue. When Im installing my tint always seems to stick in place and I have to fight it. This is when Im trying to lay the front corner in and down to set the back (I bottom load) it like hits the window and stick. Have to fight it to where it releases and I can slide it around. Ive tried more slip. Soaking window and glass. Less slip and less water. Less slip make it horrible It does it to me on back windows too. I get it like 3 inches from bottom and layed out. Then have to fight it to slide down to bottom. Once …

Just doing some homework... Windshield to be tinted on Xpel XR or XR Plus 70% Will this be efficient enough that I won't need to use a SunShade when parked outdoors in direct sun. The dashboard is leather so the goal is to keep as much heat off the dashboard as possible when in the sun. However, tint scratches....and in using the SunShade, I know it will -rub- when putting it on/etc. Second question. Leaning on tinting my Panorama Sunroom in XR or XR Plus 50% Because of how ceramic tint works, basically blocks the heat from coming in, but the glass get's *hot, hotter* due to how the tint works. Is this a concern for the -co…

I've been looking at tinting my second floor windows/sliding doors (9 floor to ceiling low-e dual pane glass totaling ~400sqft) to combat heat and reduce a little glare. The space is an open loft concept so the stairs lead directly to the space. And from the first floor, leading up to the stairs is a very long hallway that I've discovered to act like a wind tunnel so I think a good portion of the heat is coming from the first floor raising up. The glass panels are situated as such: 6 of these panels are south facing with overhangs about 1/2 the glass' height. 2 panels are east facing without overhang 1 panel is west facing without overhang. …

Hello all 1st post. I've always done my own window tint and/or have had friends do it. So im being untrustworthy on my film in which I paid to have done. I paid for llumar ctx 15% (looks 20) and irx 50% for Windsheild. BTU in the sky/sun was around 400 and while trying to point to the same area of the sun my side windows were reading 40btu and my windshield was reading 90btu. Same test on ASWF Retro 50 was 110-115BTU. So im having a tough time believing IRX llumar is only 20 or so less BTUs than ASWF Retro What do y'all all think?

I have been tinting for over a month now. and have only been using ceramic film. I took a course that used straight carbon film, so I didn't run into this problem until after my training. Typically on almost every car I tint, if you have a bright light (the sun) shining through the window, while you are in the car you can see these tiny little lines that look like scratch marks. They are creases it seems in another layer of the film.... You would never see it from outside of the car, only when it is very bright and you are looking from inside the vehicle. . They come up wherever the film gets slightly pinched or crinkles a little on itself? The film seems to …

I’m trying to keep my cool but after noticing the poor alignment this shop did on my ppf, I’m finding where they quite literally cut into my rubber trim. I saw them redoing the driver when I came to pick it up so I know they aren’t using pre cuts. is this normal? Or do I have a right to be angry? This car only has 2k miles

Alert!! Warning!!! Hey, Look out!! The 2014-16 GMC Sierra door panels have defective vinyl dye. It seems to be the brown panels so far. If ANY chemicals (soap and water) ((TintSlime)) hits these door panels they are ruined. The more you try to clean it the worse it gets. Even covering the panels won't work. If ANY solution gets on them they stain and as you wipe them they start flaking like they have a wax on them or something, except the color comes with it. Needless to say, I won't be touching these anymore.

I am looking for the best automotive tint money can buy. At first I thought it was between 3m crystalline and Xpel Prime XR Plus. Then I discovered Llumar Formula one stratos which apparently no one in my area (Houston) installs because it's too expensive for them to buy. Best I can find around here is Llumar formula one Pinnacle. Then someone recommended Autobahn i3 to me. I'm looking for best heat reduction, blocking of skin cancer causing rays, best visual clarity, longterm life, etc.

Hi everyone. Sorry for the bad pics I hope you can see what I’m referring to but I just got done removing tint and adhesive from my car and have these white marks (streaks) left on it. The marks are on the inside of the window and it is NOT adhesive! I already got all of the adhesive off the window and I know this isn’t adhesive because non of my removers work to get it off like it did the adhesive and it isn’t sticky.. lol! I’m referring to the streaky lines, not the pollen/ dust that’s on the exterior of my car window. Please tell me what these marks are and how to get them off. Thanks!

Hey yall, sorry for taking up your time. I own a 2019 panamera 4, and I just went to a car window tinting place today. The tint job was crappy BUT I found out this when I got home... It's the rear door’s glassy/plastic part that is outside of the B pillar whem the door is closed. Is this caused by a heat gun? If the shop did this, what should I do? I tried to stand and watch when they were working on my car, but they said "hey you can't be in here, you need to go wait in the front room" and I didn't want to cause any trouble so I left... I'm genuinely so sad right now... please give me some advice, I really appreciate any help....

I just had my 2022 Kia K5 tinted with ceramic and I think they did an outstanding job on all of the side windows. I don't see any real bubbles or issues on any of the sides. The back window is pretty decent as well, but I can see some fiber/hairs in 2-3 spots. Is this something I should just chaulk up to stuff that just happens, or should I ask installer to fix? I feel like for the price I paid (550$) it should not have fibers showing... but if that's a normal thing, than I'll just suck it up. I just had it done yesterday, so I am hoping it will dry up/evaporate.. but from what I have read so far they are permanent. Thank you for takin…

Looking to get tints on my windows and rear windshield for a 2016 bmw 328i (black with light tan interior). Debating between 35 & 20%... Best quote I've gotten for ceramic tints is a place that offers geoshield pronano ceramic film...I've been reading that 3M and LLumar are best although not many shops near me seem to offer LLumar... Is the Geoshield worth it? (i have quotes for $350 for geoshield vs $600 for 3M). Both places offer lifetime warranty for bubbling, peeling, etc. Thoughts on 35 v 20 and geoshield v other brands would be great.

I am an end user and requesting some input. Recently had Ceramic Window Tint, LLumar brand, put on. Several days later, I noticed the tint was lifting around the compliance sticker and also the MFG lettering on the side glass. The "flat" areas look fine, and I do not see any issues. Before I go back to the shop and show the areas, What would cause this? How do I fix this? How do I keep this from happening?

I have a horror story that isnt over. I'd like to see how others might handle given the pros and cons of what outcome they would expect. I have a car I'm pretty proud to own and I like it looking it's best. I take really good care of it. I almost spend more time caring for the inside and out than I do actually driving it. I just love to look at it. It's not a super expensive car but it is a low production with rare options and low miles. It's only 6 years old but most of the parts are unavailable. I wanted to get the windows tinted to protect the interior for when its outside. I did my research and decided on HuperOptic. It's one of the premium fi…

I did a film install for a neighbor of mine. He supplied me a red chrome film. Everything came out perfectly fine. Then he calls me about two weeks later to come over and look at his car. He said these issues arrived about the time he called me, said they just showed up out of no where. I rarely have any experience with chrome I usually only ever worked with ceramic, carbon, and acrylic films. Everything was perfectly fine the day it left my garage, so I’m just very curious if I did something wrong or is it something with the film? I’ve done 4/5 chrome jobs, been installing for five+ years now never experienced anything like this.

Hi, I wanted an opinion about a windshield tint I had put yesterday. It's a 3M 20% tint (it has the logo in it), and when you look through it, there are horizontal bands that make what you see pixelated-like (see picture). I wanted to know if this is normal or not. I will appreciate any help given.

Hello! New to tinting and first post on here. “This is only happening to me on rear glass.” Will attach photo of imperfections that are happening. I’ve been tinting my vehicles for practice. For 3 months now. I’ve been putting hours of practice in everyday in hopes of one day adding this service to my detailing business. I’d like to say I’m getting the concept down. One thing always seems to happen on rear glass and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’d really appreciate the feedback in hopes of bettering my technique! My cleaning process for windows: 1. Clean window thoroughly. 2. Clay bar inside of window. 3. Spray…
