Those of you currently using Suntek are probably already aware of how good their customer service is, but this time they blew me away! A few weeks ago, one of my accounts dealer traded a car to Texas off the showroom we had filmed for them to sell off of. It had been there at least three weeks and at least 50 jobs were sold off this car. Thursday I get a call from the guy that purchased the car in out of state wanting his money back. He wasn't happy because the back of the hood wasn't wrapped,.. headlights, side markers, and badge not removed and wrapped. Suntek stepped in, found a local installer to do whatever he needed to get this resolved. Thank you b…

Hello, As you guys know, The PPF a three layer. I recently got XPEL and SunTek PPF rolls. After cutting with my plotter, it is too hard to strip and remove the cap sheet. For me it takes too long to strip the cap sheet, and I am afraid of getting some dammage during the removing. Could you give me some advice and tip for removing the Cap sheet after plotting ? Thank you.

I was curious if anyone can help me price out/ sales techniques on PPF? In August I had take the training class and they basically said to use the xpel site for pricing which I have been, but I can't hardly get customers to bite on ppf! I have a steady flow of tint custys that I just mention PPF to them and educate them on the product but they are not willing to pay the price for these installs. I install XPEL and LLUMAR fillms. Any help is appreciated!!

How many people have actually installed the Pro Series with success? I've heard a lot of detractors, but in my brief experience with it, I found it a helluva lot easier to install than 848. I'm starting to field customer inquiries about it, so I'd like to know what I can ahead of actually installing it for paying clientele.

Did a 2014 Toyota Highlander today. Tried installing two different brands of film on the headlights. Tried cleaning them with everything under the sun. Tried 3 different slip agents (soap) and even tried just alcohol and water and even just water and just alcohol. Even tried clay bar on them with no gain. Film would just slide all over and even after heated with heat gun would just short of fall off. This is about the 3rd new vehicle this year I have come across that had a coating than film wouldn't stick to. Been installing ppf for over 15 years, so no noob here. Anyone else? Figured some car manufacturers are trying some new coatings on their headlights to cure the ye…

So I Installed Xpel's Headlight protection film on a customers 2008 BMW 135i headlight a month and half ago. He called two weeks ago about a whitle/silver nickel sized dot on the driver side headlight. I explained to him that the headlight kits are different material compaired to the Ultimate and would take much longer to dry. In some cases a few weeks because of the thickness. Customer brought in the car and saw the dot and told him to give it a few more weeks since the weather has been pretty cold out and knew the up coming week was gonna be 60 and above with plenty of sun. Fast forward today and the dot has not dried out or has got any better since I last saw the car. …

XPEL vs. Suntek clear paint protection 1 2 3 4

Hello All, I've narrowed down my clear paint protection film down to XPEL and Suntek. The price for the XPEL from the quote I received is much higher than the quote for Suntek, not sure what that is but I'm leaning towards Suntek but wanted to see if I could get some opinions from people that actually have either of the two on their car and pass along their experiences to date as I know Suntek has only been around for is it two years now? The car that will be receiving the clear paint protection will be my 2013 Beetle Turbo Fender Edition which I recently purchased. Thank you in advance! Thomas - Maryland, USA

Pattern Question from new guy
by Guest GT2RS- 4 replies

Gents, New to the industry and had a few questions regarding pattern software for cutting. Am in Asian market so some cars here aren't available in USA. Also I believe most providers here offer full hood cut. Am just starting off on a small scale basis and would like to keep costs at a minimum without sacrificing print quality, it's preciseness, and of course the variety of cars I can choose from in any market. I am aware that most companies like expel, suntek, durashield have their own pattern cuts and costs but have seen independent ones that are much cheaper... Am also down to selecting product how would you rank the following: 1. suntek 2.…

First off I put this here because their is no True cut under the software section. Most my PPF career has been hand cutting. I Started using Digital Design about 2 years ago quite a bit. For the most part patterns fit well. I have had True Cut for the past year and only now decided to try a few bumpers. So far I have tried 3 bumper, and all are in the trash. Its not that they did not fit to my liking. They plain just do not fit. I'm talking inches off, from top to bottom. Just thought I could save some one some wasted film. I will be cancelling.

Hello, This is KUGS from South Korea. I am preparing to start for a PPF business. I have researched a lot of thing about PPF, but I still have lots of questions I found out that this website, tintdue.com, is the best for PPF installer. Oh! Thanks god! Anyways I have questions for you guys. I hope please advise for me for my PPF busness in Seoul, South Korea. 1) Can I use GRAPHTEC CE5000-120 for PPF? I know this is an old model, but I do not have enough budget for getting a new one. Throughout googling, FC8600-160 is the best, but what about used CE5000-120 ? or I am thinking of getting a CE6000-120 instead of CE5000-120 because pri…

Advice on best PPF 1 2

Hi All, I am not an installer and never have used PPF. After 13 years of driving the same truck, I finally purchased a new Mercedes CLA 45 AMG. The car is in port at Baltimore so I should have it in about a week or so. I am racking my brain trying to figure out the "best" PPF for my car and installer. The PPF I choose will most likely dictate the installer. My CLA forum has all kind of "experts," but I'm coming here for the real deal. The places I have contacted (#) around here (Philadelphia) primarily use: 3M Pro (3), XPel (2) and Premium Shield Elite (1). My budget is limited, because I still need to buy winter rims and tires for the CLA and if anyone knows t…

Today I started my first day of Clear Bra training class @ performance tools in Columbus. learning with Xpel & LLumar films, I must say it is much harder than it looks. With my background in tinting I thought I would get a grasp on it a little quicker! For the pros out there on TD, is there any techniques tips or tricks that I should ask to see while in the class?

Just got the word that Nano-Fusion will be raised to Xpel Ultimate price per sq foot. But here's the kicker. No matter how many rolls you buy it will stay the same price. So if you are buying 20 rolls a month, you will pay the same as someone who buys only one! Thoughts?

Hi We are loking for an experienced PPF installer to visit us and help demonstrate and teach us and some of our customers the art of PPF installation. Possibly just before or just after Sema. You will be based in Bangkok and possibly another location. You could even extend your stay and combine this with a holiday. We will supply return flights, hotel, food and of course payment for the days you are teaching. Thai people are very easy going so the teaching is very relaxed and enjoyable. You need to be experienced in PPF and show some examples of your work/website You will be well looked after here and language barriers are not an issue as I am Engl…

so ive used this a bit did my roof and side mirrors and a bunch of trim stuff. looks really good works as id expect but i tried to do a hood on buddys 944 hes putting together for his shop. the adhesive was just so damn aggressive even just while laying out it would lock down hard, i ended up scrappin the first piece it was trapping little spots of air that wouldnt come out without peeling. so the second time i did wet and Viola pretty easy. how do you guys deal with wraps in the heat? i know its my inexperience and the fact the shop was 80 plus degrees with a sticky adhesive.

Hey guys I have been tinting for 1 year and a half now. I am getting a plotter and PrecisionCut next week to precut my window tints. Since I will have a plotter a software it would be a bright idea to offer PPF installations. You have any good videos to suggest or advices. Should I pay and get a training or I should watch some videos try on couple of friends' car?

Help - Problem with Suntek Kit
by Guest stephenc- 9 replies
- 2.6k views
I recently purchased a Suntek PPF kit from a dealer which included mirrors, fenders, bumper, hood and valence. Unfortunately, the kit came in the original roll of film with the pieces still embedded in the roll of film. By the time I was ready to install the kit about 30 days later, the pieces would not separate from the rolls of film. The dealer was located in Texas. So I think the heat from the shipping also caused the pieces to blend with the roll of film it came in. I called the dealer and he pretty much told me there is nothing he could do for me and he will not recut the pattern for me if Iship the item back to him. I was even willing to work something out…
