Hello, I'm very new to the world of tinting, I am looking to tint the headlights on my 2017 Audi A4, I want a very very very very light tint and I don't know exactly which tint is the lightest on the market. I know Vvivid has a "light smoke", but I was hoping there was something even lighter than that. If anybody can link me some very light headlight tint, and lead me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

Does anyone know of a dyed film that matches the toyota Tacomas 4runner rear windows. Looking for a film that has that prepurpled look.

Got a call from a customer I tinted their window back in 2017 using Suntek film. (Not sure which film - looking for my paperwork) She sent me this picture... Any ideas? I've never had a call on 4 yr old film gone bad.. but there's always the first time. The customer isn't exactly around the corner, so I haven't seen it in person yet. Figured I would get a picture of it first and then go from there.

I did one for a long time customer the other day. No issues. Tons of room at the bottom of the windshield. Put three soak ropes down. Covered everything else up. No issues. Probably done it a dozen Model S's with no issues. Too much risk for me with the model 3s.

Just curious if there are any tint-safe options out there for lubricating vertical window tracks/seals/channels in cases where they're causing excessive drag on the motors. I've seen silicone spray as well as dry teflon used on untinted windows, but obviously don't want to risk affecting the film adhesive.

Anyone heard of these guys out of Canada? Got an email that they have a rep stopping in our area in Janurary and wanted to see if anyone carries it? There are some dealers in the Northeast, Midwest, and California. I was signed up for Clearplex, but never fully started offering it. Then Madico bought them, called for pricing, but never heard anything from them. So wanted to see if the ExoShield is comparable.

Rear 1/4s are different sizes. Ive had to trim the passenger side from the inside 3x now! Probably do it again, but maybe its faster this way? While im here, the gaskets come out with one screw by handle.

Ive been getting back warranties on rear windows in 2-3 years using rayno s-5. This is not acceptable especially when rayno makes you jump threw hoops to get paid. I can just see all the warranties coming in this year. at 150.00 max per car its going to be a tough year. Ive been hearing good things about global ceramic films. What can anyone tell me.

Hi all, I'm looking to tint a 2018 Equinox. I found a local shop to install Madico Black Pearl ceramic for $350 with a lifetime warranty. What are your thoughts on this film? I can't seem to find a lot of info on it. Thanks.

New to this forum, need some help comparing a few quotes for a 2020 Toyota Avalon. Got my Avalon mid November last year. It's a dark amber brown exterior and cognac leather interior, it's the original leather so need to get my car tinted as I live in Sacramento and the summers here get really hot. I can already feel my car getting hotter although it's not even Spring yet. Now coming to the tint options itself, I got a few quotes and was deciding between two of them. Hoping someone could suggest what's the best one to go with out of the options I have based on your experience. I am trying to seek as many opinions as possible to do my own research and finalize …

There is a level of cringe factor. Viewer beware !!!!! Someone in the area befriend him so he can show how its really done!! The opposite wall needs a full wall graphic of the pits at Nurburgring or something local to his shop.

Hello I need some help, I am looking to have the front of my house tinted. I have a lot of large front windows and the sun is pretty strong in the morning. I am looking at two different tint types. Enerlogic 35 and Dual Reflective Series V28 SR PS8. How are these two films? And would you recommend any other films as I am looking for heat rejection as well as privacy. Thanks for your comments and help TOM

I bought my brand new Audi to a well known tinting shop in town, AB, last month and finally had the opportunity to wash/detail the car until now. I took out my inspection light and to my shock I discovered multiple, multiple vertical/diagonal scratches along the bottom edges of all 4 side windows. Some are deeper than the others. I assume the scratches occurred during shrinking the films? How did this even occur?

I just purchased a new car and I'm looking to have the windows tinted. I know everyone recommends Crystalline, however there are no installers around me for almost 2 hours. Locally, I have two options 1) Suntek and 2) Llumar. Both shops have the same warranty, and both have great reviews. Suntek shop with more positives between the two. Price not being a factor, which would you go with between Suntek CXP, Suntek CIR, or Llumar CTX? I'm expecting Llumar because everything I see on here says Suntek sucks. The shop I went to pushed me to Suntek CXP over CIR because the CIR had more of a green tint in the sample vs the CXP charcoal and you get similar performance…

Hello everyone, I have a question. Let me start by saying I use a 10,000 lumen work light that I move to each window as I install the film. Now why is it that I cannot see any visible tiny air bubbles from debris until I bring the car outside to natural lighting.

I have compiled quite a few partial rolls of flat glass window films from different jobs over the years, and some are just never going to be used again. Do you guys just chuck the rest in the trash? It's all Llumar products so its pretty decent stuff. I just hate wasting good product.

Hello tintdude community. I used to tint windows for autos at a shop but retired from that about 15 years ago since working in IT. Never touched residential tinting so hoping to get some guidance. I have a 35” x 120” roll of frost window film that I want to apply on my 33x90” mirror by myself. I have a ladder, olfa knife, water bottle, steel wool and squeegee. Direction says to peel off the liner and use water to adjust and apply the film but I’m not sure the best technique or approach since it’s such a large piece of mirror. My concern is handling the big piece of film while applying and end up creating creases. Should I unpeel the entire liner first or unpe…

M mom Any suggestions would be appreciated for VLT percentages, film quality, and roll sizes I should purchase and carry for the initial startup phase of my small auto window tinting business. I’m thinking I should carry 3 levels of film for three different price points but would love to hear your valued opinions. Any help would be appreciated. As law is 35% VLT front max Any VLT on the rear Windshield strip is ok as long as at or above as-1 windshield overall is illegal i have a good idea just interested in any options I might not have thought about. Thanks!

So the saga continues. The windows were tinted in December 2020 with FormulaONE Pinnacle Ceramic Film, and recently I just discovered that all 4 windows have this strange band that appears to be between the film and glass. Absolutely cannot be wiped off. Moisture? The band is where the glass touches the weather strip. I am the one who posted started the thread about the tinter allegedly scratched my glass.

I’ve been tinting for quite some time now. And I’ve gotten very good at shrinking the film to the back glass. However, I keep running into the problem of having fingers in my tint once I install the film. Most the time I hit them down with the heat gun, which takes forever. Yesterday I tinted The back window of a civic. It shrunk perfectly to the glass. To my dismay, there was a giant finger in the lower left corner with a few others here and there. Even the heat gun could not take care of the problem. I haven’t seen anybody else with this problem. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Perhaps not enough soap? Maybe not enough water? Perhaps my squeegee pattern is flawe…

Just got my jeep wrangler tinted. Just wanted to know if this is normal, when i drive i see this little line of smudge. Maybe dirt particles inside the film? Will it go away? Or get better? Or just dont worry about it? The line is about 1-2 inches long
